While touring in Balıkesir city centre, you will end up in this very well designed and arranged Museum. This area is also a kind of open museum with lots of sights which are very nice to take photographs. We strongly recommend this Museum to anyone visiting Balıkesir city as a tourist.

Blown away by this attraction. I actually went there twice. You will find it as Hasan Boguldu (there is a big and sad story about how it got it's name Hasan drowned but you must visit and give the sign as you get there a thorough read). I measured the water temp at 14 degrees Celsius in mid Aug! No one could last 30 secs in those crystal clean and clear waters. It's a long river with 2 main places to swim (at waterfall just as you enter and towards the source where the scenic pool is located). Many places to sit and enjoy nature at it's best.

Sarımsaklı Beach has very fine and thin sand which makes this beach as one of the bests in its area. With its blue flag, you will have the chance to swim in crystal clear water.İt is a little bit cold even in the middle of July, but still nice to be here.Beach facilities are somehow poor.We do not know why but locals say that local Municipality did not put changing facilities and shower in and around the beach which is very bad for day time users.
There are many cafes and eateries along with the beach.

The museum is situated downtown in a beautiful historic building (a former townhall). Despite its name, its collection is not limited only to the Turkish Independence War, but also contains large ethnographic and archaeological sections. The first floor displays many Ataturk and war-related memorabilia, while the second one houses ethnography rooms and some remarkable showcases with small finds from recent rescue excavations in various sites in the area. There are many good and detailed information panels, which is generaly a rarity in smaller museums in Turkey. The museum garden is another pleasant surprise with its well-arranged set of ancient marble statues, gravestones, altars, honorary inscriptions, reliefs etc. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Well worth the visit!

Quiet place, away from the city noise. If you have limited time & like to have meal in nature (barbecue style), in here you have the opportunity to buy meat per kg. There is two restaurant facilities.
You have to pay for entrance either with or without car.

Karayolu kenarında bulunan bu oldukça geniş alana yayılı alış veriş merkezi diyebileceğimiz mağaza,dükkanlar ve yiyecek ile içecek mekanlar topluluğu her keseye uygun fiyat yapısıyla bizler hizmet vermeye çalışıyor.Biz bugün kısa bir mola verip Burger King'e uğrayıp kahve içtik.Fena değildi.Beğendik.
