The brightest stars of Los Baleares are Majorca, Ibiza and peaceful Minorca. Situated between France and Africa, the archipelago's islands each have distinct characters. Majorca is the most developed and offers a mass of hotels, fast food joints and crowded beaches. Ibiza is loved by a hard partying set, including many gay visitors. It is also increasingly popular with upscale travelers, drawn by the chameleon island's reputation as "the new Provence." Pick an island and stake a claim on its sand.

The Caves of Campanet are situated in the north of the island in an unspoilt valley which captures the unique character and charm of rural Majorca. They cover an area of 3.200 Square metres. You could go through beautifully decorated chambers and passageways. Deep in the caves you will see magnificient stalagmites and stalactites sculpted by water throughout millions of years. Their variety, delicacy and color are outstanding. Of scientific interest are the signs of the existence of Henrotius Jordai, an indigenous, carnivorous, blind beetle and the remains of Myotragus Balearicus, an indigenous mammal believed extinct about 4000 years ago. From the bar and spacious terrace you can enjoy the sun and the beauty of the San Miguel valley.
I have never seen something like this. Entrance is without any guide, just on your own, you should only follow the direction. To be honest, without my husband I would get lost for sure. :D Nevertheless it was very interesting, it´s amazing what nature can create. It took about half an hour to walk through the whole area of caves. After that we got there a good cofee and continued in our trip around the island.

We had already visited Caves of Drach when we saw signs for this place. How different could two places be. The guide was amazing seamlessly flitting between Spanish, German and English- full of fun facts he made sure we all enjoyed his tour. The tour contains 425 steps [according to the guide] and a hike of close to 1.5 km. Amazing geology, and a photo snap at every turn. Not appropriate for those who are physically challenged. Recommended and would revisit.

The Blue Cave was one of the highlights of the boat trip to Cabrera Island from Colonia de Sant Jordi. The boat stopped there on the way back from Cabrera and we were able to swim and snorkel in the crystal clear turquoise waters. It was like a dream. Great boat crew and staff.

We are so glad we did this walk here is how we found it. We took the bud from Sant Tomas to Es Mijourn, walked to the school and then continued straight down the road towards the cemetery, keep walking straight for 5-10mins then on the left hand side willl be a sign for the Cave and a gate. this is where you will start at 20min walk down towards the cave. Keep an eye our for the, mostly handwritten, arrows and signs to keep you on the right track. After 20mins or so you will come to an sign pointing upwards to a left hand side bend. Follow this up for a few mins and you will find the cave in front of you. it i a spectacular sight. This walk does require proper footwear do not wear filp flops but its not too difficult our 5 and 3 year olds managed the entire thing. Continue on your walk down the ravine following the signs for around 30-40mins until you come to an opening on the left you have a gate to wards a hotel, on the right farmers fields and directly in front another gate. Take this route and continue for 5 mins and then you will be on Binangus beach. Walk along the beach and cliff front for 5 mins to get back to Sant Tomas. In total from the Bus stop to Sant Tomas this took us 3hours but bare in mind we had young children with us who walked the entire thing!

World famous, are visited since 1898; inside is lake Martel, considered one of the largest underground lakes in the world, where live classical music concerts are performed every day. You can cross the lake on a boat at the end of the concert. BEWARE, there are two caves to visit in Porto Cristo, the largest and more frequently visited are the Caves of Drach. We advise to get tickets online from our web page, cheaper than at the ticket office and you don´t need to print it. Check carefully that you are at the real Cuevas del Drach, not at another caves nearby with confusing road panels, simulating to be Cuevas del Drach. On high season we advise strongly to book online from Cuevas del Drach official web site, with an small discount and ensuring your entry time.
Another culmination you shouldn’t miss when visiting the Islands of Mallorca: Situated on the Eastern coast, at the entrance of Porto Cristo, nobody expects the unique phenomenon and the magnificent charm on its own! By land or by sea (we made it by bus in the middle of the best month May! this year) easily gained the Caves of Drach, one penetrates down to unbelievable depths where nature and water did work and sculpt during millions and millions of years stalactites and stalagmites of breathtaking forms and outstanding beauty in light knitting. In jewellery-like forms and in an orgy of colours in an interlaced design to perfection, running along many galleries and pathways, astonishing the manifold reflections and gleams around, you attain the underground lake of Martel and experience the apogee with the classical concert life on board a boot. By this, on the waves of the deeply impressing classical music and the tenderly rocking boot one exalts from the depth to the heaven and will never forget this moments in a dreamed world.
