Txakolingunea

We had a fantastic visit to this museum. The museum itself has a lovely and very informative overview about Txaculi- the white wine of the Basque region. More importantly, though, the people working here could not have been more friendly. They helped us find wineries in the region to visit, and even called to make reservations for us at the nearby San Juan. Definitely recommend a stop here!

Doniene Gorrondona Txakolina

Doniene Gorrondona Txakolina is the evolution from the traditional farm to a modern winery where the txakoli is produced in a completely professional manner. Placed in Bakio, the vineyards surrounding it are a warranty for the good quality of our raw material.

Doniene Gorrondona is a winery located in Bakio, the center of the wine production in Bizkaia Region, in Basque Country. It is a winery, which produce txakoli (the local wine) and fortified wines. We came here and decided to do a guided visit, which was wonderful, because we learned a lot about wines, the history of the region and enjoy a lot talking with the owner, a very friendly man. We also could see the fortified wines production as a subproduct of the winery, very nice olace with somee destillators. At the end, we tasted some of the txakolis (white one, red one and sparkling one), which were excellent and we could eat some local food like tuna, cheese and anchovies. A great experience! Cabo Matxitxako

Paid a visit here with our 5 year old and 1 and a half year old toddler, took us about an hour and a half return trip. Amazing views all along the walk, would recommend visiting in the morning and during the week if possible, passed by on Sunday and was very busy, and parts of the walkway are relatively narrow.

Ermita De San Juan De Gaztelugatxe

Reviewed By AlbertSalichs - Manresa, Spain

Ermita de San Juan de Gaztelugatxe is a little church located on a rock in the sea, close to the coast, in Bizkaia Region, in Basque Country. Really, it is a mystical place, where some scenes of Game of Thrones were filmed. The views of the place are wonderful and you can go here from stone stairs to the top of the rock. In fact, it was a great little excursion. I recommend you go before 9a.m. and not in weekend, because it is empty of people. Also the surroundings are very nice: the sea, the rocks, the coast and mountains. Top in our travel in Basque Country. Playa De Bakio

Reviewed By aibhin1

the beach is long and wide. The surf when not too strong is fun to swim in. The beach is spotlessly clean, rules like "no Dogs" are adhered to and the 4/6 lifeguards are on the ball. The beach is big enough to accommodate crowds and the nearby cafes serve delicious coffee. Behind the promenade is a bit bland but you can escape quickly on long cliff walks
