Baja is not very large but sure it is beautiful. It is not the Danube but a branch of the Danube called Sugovica which runs near the heart of downtown where this "Ter" is located. Across the square is Petofi Island easily crossed by a bridge one can see. Sogovica comes from a Slavic word and means "dirty one" because of the color of the water and the many insects that fly above it. This square is spectacular with square stones paving and beautiful buildings around it. It makes one feel how spectacular are many cities in Europe. There are several restaurants on several sides, there is the City Hall, a Hotel Spa and all the buildings around it are first calss.
