Bainbridge Dental Museum

a medical doctor from Cincinnati, settled in Bainbridge in the mid-1820's. In the fall of 1827, he began teaching classes for those who wished to study "preparatory" to entering a medical college. The following spring, his advertisements emphasized his interest in dentistry, a specialty he favored in both practice and instruction. Dr. Harris' home and the site of instruction for the original class stands preserved today as a landmark in the history of dentistry and as a listing on the National Registry of Historic Places.

The Highlands Nature Sanctuary

OPEN SEASONALLY FROM APRIL - OCTOBER FROM 9 - 5. The Highlands Nature Sanctuary is the Arc of Appalachia's oldest and largest preserve. The heart of the 2,500-acre preserve is the breathtakingly beautiful Rocky Fork Gorge, a 100-foot high steep-walled canyon renowned for its stunning rock formations, ancient white cedars, spectacular wildflower displays, grottos, springs, and stone arches. Visitors to the Sanctuary can enjoy staying in a number of historic cabins and older homes that have been fully renovated into modern nature retreats, ranging from secluded 2-person suites perched on the bluff of the gorge that offer dizzying views, to five-bedroom historic lodges that handsomely accommodate small groups and educational gatherings.

Pike Lake State Park

Reviewed By dsaxe1114 - Cincinnati, United States

We stayed at Pike Lake State Park last weekend and it was wonderful! We had preferred cabin #25 for 2 nights. It had 2 bedrooms, nice bathroom and a wonderful screened patio that has a swing that overlooked the woods. The cabin interior looks new! Very clean. Plenty of room for 6 of us. The lake is small put perfect for kayaking, canoeing and fishing. Very beautiful hiking trials and a clean beach with clear water. It was very peaceful and a great weekend get away!
