The Sasquatch Outpost is arguably the most unique store in Central Colorado. Dedicated to our favorite local "legend" Sasquatch (or Bigfoot), we sell a large selection of Squatch-related merchandise (t-shirts, bumper stickers, signs, mugs etc). And check out the Sasquatch Encounter Discovery Museum, a fascinating journey into Bigfoot Territory - complete with our very own Bigfoot named "Boomer"! Omg love this store they have nothing but Bigfoot this and bigfoot that and got some shirts and stickers it was sooooo neat and do t mine stopping by again and visitSo glad you had so much fun in the store! This is a lovely place, very peaceful away from the noise of the construction. Check the web site before you visit – and maybe print a colour version of the map and information. There is no visitor centre and the map provided at the gate is not as helpful as the one on the website. It's black and white and there's no indication of the difficulty of the trails. When we paid at the gate we weren’t given any information about the closure of two of the car parks. There are lots of options though and there's a good trail to Davis Pond with a gradual gradient and well formed path; although there was some misinformation of one of the boards about the closure of the path. There are beautiful views to the mountains over alpine meadows. The restroom facilities at Davis Pond are much better than in the main parking area. They are newer and had hand cleanser; in the main area the dispenser was empty even in the morning. There are good facilities for picnicking and well marked trails when you find them.

Had a great day of snowshoeing, fondue and wine. I'd recommend this place in other seasons as well for all they have to offer, the wine is great. We will definitely be back for dinner as well as for the winter activities. The staff was great and attentive. Well done!

This free trail (public) leads you to the top of Mt. Bailey, the iconic peak you see when you are driving eastbound through town back to Denver. Being a quick hike, it is a great leg-stretcher, and the reward is a fantastic viewpoint.

This is a great place to go backpacking for a weekend or a 3 day trip. I haven't ever hiked the entire trail as we usually only have made it to the shaft house and camped around the ruins. There are tons of places to camp on the side of the creek or along the trail. It is absolutely gorgeous granite formations that you can look at and climb on and since it is quite a hike to get there, it is not as crowded as other places to camp.

A nice brewery in Bailey. They have a few local beers and some guests. And some Colorado wine. The beer was excellent, and the staff knowledge and friendly.

My family (boys ages 8 and 5) recently camped at the stunning Wellington Lake/Castle Mountain Campground. The poor reviews frightened me, so I was prompted to write a review from a reasonable view point.
Positives:
We reserved two spacious group sites right next to the lake. I was amazed by the views in all directions. I would highly recommend bringing a kayak, paddle board or canoe - the water is clean and mild, and the perfect size for cruising around. Our area had a spacious 'beach'. No motorized boats! The hike to the waterfall is under a mile - was completed by 3 and 4 year olds in the group - and is definitely worth it. There was a rocky point near our site that the kids scrambled on for hours.
Wildlife was incredible - bald eagle nest, a moose sighting, hundreds of hummingbirds and very few insects! Fishing is catch and release only. We did catch one nice rainbow trout, but if you can't eat them kind of pointless in my opinion.
Negatives:
This place is busy. There is a 'day use' picnic spot next to our site and families with 20-30 people set up shop there on Saturday and Sunday. Many people would walk right through our camp to access the lake and day use area.
There is a boy scout camp tucked away on the west side of lake, and those $%&$#ers would wake up at 6AM, play the bugle, and would fish and scream every time they caught a fish. So annoying. Boy scout leaders - teach your troops RESPECT for others! Hundreds of people are sleeping!
I did not make the reservations, so I cannot speak to the rude management reviews. I thought our site was clean and well maintained. The outhouses were not great, but not too many are!!
We would definitely come back - so many activities for families and the scenery is stunning. However, if you are looking for solitude, then go elsewhere.
