Burg Kussaberg

Kuessaburg is one of the biggest ruins in this region (besides Hohentwiel in Singen and Roetteln Castle close to Basel). From the remains of the Keep you have a nice view over the Wutach and Rhine valley and the beginning of the black forrest. Else you can also walk around the inner wall. It is very interesting for little kids since you can climb also down to deep dungeons and kennels. The parking is close to a nice restaurant in a former farm. At the foot of the mountain you can find an old roman road. A hiking round trip takes about 4-5 hours, it is pretty nice through forrests and suitable for families.

Aargauisch Kantonales Weinbau-Museum

Reviewed By jeanlefou2015 - Canton of Aargau, Switzerland

Stellwerk

Reviewed By Winitouch - Basel

Psi Forum Visitor Centre

This museum is part of the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), a large scientific and technological research institute. The PSI includes many departments that cover practically every branch of modern science and technology, from health to energy to materials, nuclear safety, magnetism, biology, physics, chemistry and fundamental science, and includes multiple large scale research facility, between them a synchrotron, a neutron source and - in 1 or 2 years - a free electron laser. This exhibition shows - often by interactive models and machines - some of the science going on here, together with some basic science (the nature of energy, the law of fall in vacuum, a live cosmic ray counter!) It is excellent didactically, there's something for kids and grown-up too. In a small theatre it is possible to watch several 3-D movies about frontier science, that I can warmly recommend. What is more interesting - on the web page one can book, as a small group or as an individual, a guided tour of the research facilities themselves, giving a rare possibility to see scientists at work and being told what is going on. And everything is completely free. A restaurant and cafeteria are very close by.

So it's a climb of noteworthy stairs/steps and elevation...but we felt it was worth it just to quietly sit and watch the sunset.
Trust me...we weren't alone...several other couples were enjoying the view as well:)
We were proud to have made it to the top...we walked all the way from the our hotel by the river thru town then to top of Stein Castle. It's a great memory.

Swiss Military Museum Full

Reviewed By mikatu - Basel, Switzerland

This museum is great. You find all kind of stuff from guns to heavy tanks.
It is not a military history museum therefore you won't learn about the history of the battles. You will see instead the evolution of the weapons and the vehicles.
The museum is not very easy to find but worth a lot.

Pub mit Konzerten

Reviewed By Natluvskay - Baden, Switzerland
