A Georgian church that was built in 1888 in the place of the ruins of a former Albanian Church. We can see the remnants of the first church that was built in the 3-4th centuries. The position of the temple is just picturesque. It houses one of the best-known celebrations that was held twice a year. This is Kurmukoba of St George's Day

Amazing place to visit - just when you think you can’t take another nutsy driver, cobblestone, or pothole - here’s this church, possibly the oldest in the world, in the center of a little town with a Thor Heyerdahl bust. Who knew. Had a marvelous tour with an English teacher - she made my day. Would recommend this after the so-so Sheki experience.

The Holy Savior Cathedral was built between 1868 and 1887, (Ghazanchetsots Cathedral), is an Armenian Apostolic cathedral in Shushi, Artsakh. It was vandalized by Azerbaijan soldier's stealing the bell and two of the 4 angels from the bell tower. It was also damaged during the March 1920 massacre of Armenians of the city by Azerbaijanis during the Soviet period.
