Built just to the east of the spectacular ruins of the capital of the Ayutthaya kingdom, a Siamese power destroyed by Burmese invasion in the 18th century, Ayutthaya is a modern Thai city studded with archeological wonders. Headless Buddhas and crumbling but still-beautiful reliquary towers and wats give evidence of the majesty of the civilization that was once centered here.

See sights such as, Wat Mahathat to encounter the famous Buddha head covered in tree roots. Admire beautiful remnants of murals left behind on the temple ruins. After spending 2 weeks in various regions of Thailand, we wrapped up our trip in Bangkok. We had one full day so wanted to see and learn as much as we could. We communicated with Nikki in advance of our trip and he was very friendly, responsive and helpful in recommending which of the many options were not to be missed. Nikki met us at our hotel and arranged tuk-tuks and taxis to get us to the various locations which was easy and fun. Our day was chock-full...we went to Pak Klong Talad flower market (beautiful!), the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha (awe-inspiring), Wat Arun, Reclining Buddha, a longboat ride along the Choaphaya River, and China Town. Nikki shared his knowledge of the area, the sites, the people, and the history. He is outgoing and enthusiastic and he took good care of us. We enjoyed the day immensely and would absolutely recommend a tour with Nikki!

I visited Thailand with 2 friends in November 2018 and Pary was our guide for 3 days : in Bangkok, Kanchanaburi and Ayutthaya. 2 years later (time flies), I still remember that trip very fondly. From the start, she was open and responsive to our requests by email. On the ground, Pary was knowledgeable, well-prepared and adaptive. Beyond her professionalism, her generous and joyful personality and passion for sharing really shine through. If given the opportunity to go back to Thailand, I would love to have Pary as a guide again!

May, our local guide is fantastic. She was very kind to pick us up at our hotel. We quickly hit it off and chatted about Bangkok during our tour. May took us to places that are off the beaten path to see the real Bangkok. We had a marvelous local Thai lunch by the river. May wanted to show us food that her grandma made for her. Totally authentic Thai food. Besides the Thai puppet show, she took us to see a 200 years old temple that is being restored. No tourists, just two of us. We felt very privileged to see her hometown. May took great care of us and even dropped us off at the next meeting point for our second tour. We appreciate her thoughtfulness and friendliness. Amazing recommended places from her. We felt her genuine friendship. Gave us a really warm feeling. Thanks so much, May. Sincerely appreciated.

The travel feeling different than before. Many places in Pattaya were close and the atmosphere seems quiet but Pattaya more calm and beautiful. Car service, driver very nice and car quite new and clean. Driver always remind and give us the spray alcohol to clean our hand when we got back in car????. So we didn't need to worry about the cleanliness.

May met us at our hotel which was quite out of the way. She took us to all the significant sites and provided a very good commentary. Her English was excellent. We rode the ferry to the flower market, and a Tuk tuk to the Grand Palace. We were supposed to have a 8 hour tour but because we were jet lagged we cut it short.

Our tour was with Travel China Guide. It was well organized, everyone spoke very good English, the food was great, visited lots of places and we had a great time. Our tour was in May so it was rather hot but not as many tourists and crowds to deal with. We had six of us on a private tour and that is the only way to go. It is so nice to travel in a small group. Since we had a small group we could adjust the schedule when the weather was to hot, especially the first few days. We went from Alberta, Canada with 15 C to Bangkok 35 C and high humidity. It took us a few days to adjust. This is our second trip with Travel China Guide, we also did China two years ago on a Small Group Tour. Both trips were amazing and I would recommend Travel China Guide for any trips to Asia.
