Built just to the east of the spectacular ruins of the capital of the Ayutthaya kingdom, a Siamese power destroyed by Burmese invasion in the 18th century, Ayutthaya is a modern Thai city studded with archeological wonders. Headless Buddhas and crumbling but still-beautiful reliquary towers and wats give evidence of the majesty of the civilization that was once centered here.

This place is not for visiting with a big groups but worth to stop by for people who travel on their on, couples, families, friends. Small and quiet place with a good private collection of original Thai boats and additionally ship models, old maps, and etc. Established by a local enthusiast, who has professional skills in building Thai boats, and a real passion. Very friendly place, asking no specific fee, just any donations you are willing to make.

Baan Hollanda is an information center on the history of Dutch-Thai relations. It is located on the same site of the former trading post of the Dutch East India Company (Verenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie or VOC). There is a permanent exhibition on the second floor
It's impossible to not like this place. You can have Dutch snacks and there is also a musuem floor about the relationship between Holland and Thailand. But just take a seat and enjoy the bitterballen. Its possible to take short ferry around the corner so you don't have to walk very far. And cycling is easy.
