If you are a golfer, then this is a must play course if you are in the area. The area has lots of courses but this is one of the best. We had a great lunch and great caddies, good weather with a bunch of wind. The only negative I could possibly mention is that there isn't much in the way of good merchandise in the proshop. Given the remarkable course, most Yanks would buy a good souvenir and especially a jersey if they had a better selection.

Treetop Trials is the newest part of the adventure at Craufurdland Estate. Probably the best Treetop Experience in Scotland. It is a family orientated course with children as young as 5 years old able to participate. This project has been partly funded by Ayrshire Leader. This is the ideal outdoor activity experience for those looking for a pure adrenaline rush, fabulous workout, lots of fresh air, fun & awesome scenery. Treetop trials is ideal for families, individuals, hen and stag groups, corporate team building, school & youth groups and adventure parties for all age groups. Safety is always at the forefront of our minds therefore we use a continuous belay system which is easy and simple for all users. You simply slide the safety line from one off the obstacle to the next along the safety wire, no need to click on and click off between activities. Treetop Trials circuit will take between 30 minutes to 3 hours to complete depending on the experience chosen, fitness and agility.

Founded in 1878 by a few enthusiasts Troon Golf Club soon outgrew its purely local reputation. The Old Course today presents a stern golfing examination and in particular the inward half of Royal Troon is widely accepted as the most demanding of any Course on the Championship rota. The Open returned to the Ayrshire town for a ninth time in 2016 when the 145th Championship was played at Royal Troon. Golfers the world over vie to play Royal Troon's famous courses and we encourage visitors to experience one of the most demanding Championship courses on the circuit. Visitors are most warmly welcomed at Royal Troon Golf Club from mid-April until mid-October each year on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays.

If ever you make a trip to scotland, the Alisa course at Turnberry is the best of the ones I had the pleasure of playing. Yes it costs more than most courses in Ireland except for St. Andrews but it is worth it. I played 10 courses when i visited Scotland and this was easily the best of them all. Each hole is unique and challenging. The water can be seen from each hole which makes it scenic. There are risk and reward shots. There are undulating greens but fair. The whole experience makes this one of the best courses in the world.

Roughly one-mile scenic walking trail along the seacoast, suitable for wheelchairs. Start: Car park at Miller’s Folly on Cromwell’s Fort. End: Blackburn Car Park.
Lovely flat walk, which for an arthritis sufferer makes life a bit easier. Beautiful scenery along the front of Ayr and we were blessed with a gorgeous sunny autumn day.

My 3 children adored this in 2019. They had excellent tuition and the final day where they showed their acquired skills in a show was a delight. I hope they will run it again when the next two will be old enough to go.
