Fused and Light is a fused glass business run by Anne Bridgen. Anne runs a variety of courses in her workshop from beginners to intermediate level to allow you to try out this fascinating discipline. She also displays her work for sale, this has an emphasis on artwork inspired by the local scenery and wildlife of the Cairngorms National Park but also includes jewellery and functional ware. Fused and Light is now based in Chapel House Arts, where you can also see a changing display of fine art and high quality locally produced crafts.
I recently attended the Introduction to Glass Fusing course with Anne, what a tremendous day I had! Anne had worked hard to ensure the studio adhered to all Covid safety guidelines. Masks were worn and sanitizer was readily available. Where possible, tutorials and showing examples of fusingmediums and materials we would sit outside, socially distance so we could be mask free for a wee while. I managed to produce several items of which I am proud. Will definitely be making more! Anne is an excellent tutor, extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic. I can highly recommend this course. Y

Recently rebuilt after a devastating fire in 2016, Speyside Centre is a family run Centre in the heart of Speyside, includes an open plan Gift Shop, Wildlife Viewing Area, Traditional food served all day in the Restaurant with a great selection of homely soups, The Function Lounge to hire out for any event and of course Strathspeys largest Garden Centre with a great selection of hardy plants & over 300 different Heathers from which to choose a living part of Scotland to take home with you.
Had a great Christmas lunch here and the centre is looking splendid after its post-fire refurb. The staff are always very helpful and the shop has some very tempting treats. They also cater well for gluten free diets, including several varieties of gluten free clootie dumpling. We were actually a family of adults (4) not teens.
