Rome wasn't built in a day--and you'll need much more than a day to take in this timeless city. The city is a real-life collage of piazzas, open-air markets, and astonishing historic sites. Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, contemplate the Colosseum and the Pantheon, and sample a perfect espresso or gelato before spending an afternoon shopping at the Campo de’Fiori or Via Veneto. Enjoy some of the most memorable meals of your life here, too, from fresh pasta to succulent fried artichokes or a tender oxtail stew.

This is the "new" market at Testaccio, and it has a little bit of everything. Pasta, Pizza and roasted meats along with wine & cheese to enjoy onsite, all from fantastic stands run by passionate owners. Side by side with fresh produce including meats, seafood, fruits, vegetable & flowers. There will be something for everyone. And being Rome, there is, of course, an archaeological dig underway right in the middle of the market. This is great as there is an open section of the market to see what is going on. Easy walk from Piramide Metro station.

An excellent specialty store packed with all kinds of delicious items. The staff are very eager to make you taste various products, I think I tasted two cheeses and three balsamic vinegars this time. I ended up a buying some of my favourite pasta Beneditto Cavalieri, a small bottle of balsamic vinegar and a little bit of parmigiano (they put that in a vacuum sealed bag).
