This museum has to be one of Portugal's unsung heroes. There is so much to do and see in Portugal but this museum is a must see. My husband and I were blown away by the beauty of the little church and the wonderful ceilings. We spent about an hour and a half here wondering around taking photos just taking in the beauty all around us.

In the Oficina do Doce (The Sweet Workshop) you will have the opportunity of finding out about the history involving Ovos Moles and so many other convent-made sweets from Aveiro Region. Oficina do Doce is a learning space and shares historically faithful and representative of local reality. In our workshops you will be able to learn live, with a lot of energy, the most traditional way of making Ovos Moles. The most daring, these, will have the opportunity to experience their art as old-fashioned confectioners, filling and cutting those sweets with maritime designs. Products and Experiences genuinely Portuguese, prepared with care and diligence so that Portuguese and foreigners taste the best of Aveiro.

Over 200 years of history is what you can visit in Noeirinha. After more than 30 years of abandonment, Noeirinha has returned to the activity with a river beach and a salt production area where you can enjoy the sunset in a calm environment.

Casa de Chá tearoom is on the floor level of the Museum Arte Nova in Aveiro. This charming café has an indoor room with bistro tables. An upright piano stands ready for expert or amateur players. Outside, bean bag chairs are strewn about inviting guests to relax and enjoy the open air. A huge range of teas are available, as are specialty coffees such as cappuccino. Local cakes and fresh scones are perfect for completing a day of art nouveau appreciation.Later in the evening, Casa de Chá changes mood and transforms into an ultra chic lounge. Tea pots are put away, and cocktail shakers are brought out. Caipirinhas are the popular choice while listing to ambient electronic music and socializing with friends.

After taking a canal tour that went near the salt beds we asked about seeing them up close and discovered that it was free to walk around them. You can walk all along the beds and there is information in Portuguese and English that explains how the salt is harvested ... a difficult job and still done manually. I thought it was very interesting and made a point to pick up some salt (very cheap! ) from the stores to take home.

Excellent museum with several great pieces! The building in itself reflects the "Arte Nova" style, and you can even see more buildings like it through the town. If you are in Aveiro you won't regret visiting it! Museu excelente com várias grandes peças! O edifício em si reflete o estilo "Arte Nova", e até se pode ver mais edifícios como este pela cidade. Se está em Aveiro não se vai arrepender!
