Every year thousands of hipsters, groupies, and die-hard fans flock to Austin for the annual South by Southwest festival, which has catapulted the Texas city up the must-visit charts for many travelers. The sandstone Capitol building is symbolic of the Lone Star State’s "bigger is better" mentality, featuring a gorgeous whispering gallery rotunda and 22 acres of grounds. Cool off with a dip in Barton Springs, a huge natural limestone pool that’s fed by underground sources.

Jester King is a brewery, restaurant, farm & event hall on a beautiful 165 acre ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We make food & drink uniquely tied to a time, place & people. We're a welcoming place for people of all ages to enjoy community, fun, and hospitality in a special setting. We have re-opened in the unique mold of a park offering picnic grounds and hiking trails for our guests to enjoy!
One of the few places during Covid that feels safe to eat at. Excellent pizza and salad, and I love their sour beers and the country vibe. They have moved the tables out of the barn and keep them spaced 12 feet or more apart. Staff seem to be very attentive to cleanliness. We always enjoyed Jester King before the pandemic (but not mid-summer) and look forward to returning when the weather cools.

Adelbert's Brewery is an Austin microbrewery specializing in Belgian-style ales.
Kind of out of the way, but worth finding this brewery. They had an awesome line up of beer. Darts, pin pong, foosball, and other games. I enjoyed a flight of 3 Belgian style beers and an outstanding porter. Best beer of the weekend. The grouped enjoyed out short time in the brewery.

I am a cider snob - I don't like fizzy apple juice. Austin Eastcider is some of the best I have had in the US or Europe. Lots of different flavors and dryness to choose from. The dry is great. The Brut is a bit too dry for sipping on its own but would be good with some foods. Like the honey one, but it can be a little sweet. The tasting room is a great space with some outdoor seating and a casual atmosphere. No food is served. They do offer flights for tasting.
