Saved from demolition by the efforts of one individual, this restored historic village has specialty and antique shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and is a trendy nightspot.

I live nearby. This place captures hidden restaurant and cafe gems that are waiting to be discovered. The small lights hanging reflects a "merry" snapshot of the place with the ambiance of glass walls from the nearby shops. On Weekends, it is a busy place for food stalls and gatherings to grab a bite or drinks. One can also walk a few steps to see the cruise ships docked on the other side of this road. On Weekdays, it is a buys place for coffees and people going to the Britomart Train Station. This place is near the hub of buses, trains, and ferries.

The name Britomart became well-known for the site of the new underground railway being built as well as the terminius of the city rail and bus systems. Numerous cafes and restaurants serving cuisine from all over the world - my count is 12 in the immediate area with another 6 close by. There is a variety of high class shops in an attractive atrium plus a farmers market on Saturdays. With summer almost upon us the large green grass area equipped with bean bags will become very popular.

Wynyard Quarter

Reviewed By richardfP8835PD - Waitakere City, New Zealand

Wynyard Quarter is Aucklands newest and most exciting precinct, set between the Viaduct Harbour and West Haven Marina; it will be the home of the Americas Cup village for the March, 2021 challenge. Boasts a variety of restaurants, a theatre, hotel, the Auckland Fish market, commercial premises for the maritime industry and bearthing for many of the larger super-yachts. Loads to do; promenade along the edge of the harbour, or sit and watch the world go by at one of the waterside bistros. World-class.
