This was a daytrip we went out in a private boat and snorkled in two locations then went to the inhabited island where we were greeted with quiet attentive Gafaren (may be spelled wrong) people who have been there for many years and still rely on the land to rpvide much of what they need. We had a delicious lunch of whole snapper, beans and rice and plantains. If you go take cookies or candies to share with the children they absolutley love it and are so greatful.

I love a lot this place and is a obligatory visit for all tourists in Honduras. Everyone who comes her must stay at least one full day because you hace to go there in a boat.

Please notice: The Utila Dream ferry only travels between Utila and Roatan on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, (and Mondays starting on June 1st, 2017). . Passenger Rates: 1. Adult passengers or young adults over the age of 11 years old pay full ticket price. 2. Kids from 5 to 11 years of age pay 50% of ticket price. 3. Kids younger than 5 years of age travel for free. 4. Honduran Adults and Residents older than 60 years of age have a 25% discount. Passenger requirements: 1. Show up at terminal at least 30 minutes before departure. 2. A legal ID is required to purchase a ticket. (ID Card, passport, licence, Birth Papers, etc.) and passengers are required to have their IDs on them at all time. 3. Passengers under the age of 18 are also required to present an ID. 4. Passengers under the age of 18 and traveling alone must present a letter signed by legal parents Authorizing travel without Adult Supervision. 5. Children under 5 years of age must also have and present an ID or Birth Papers. Policies: 1. No Refunds. 2. Tickets are not transferable to other identities. 3. Only date and route changes are allowed with a Lps. 50.00 fee. 4. Passengers are allowed 2 bags, with a limit of 100lbs. per passenger.

Awesome ferry, very comfortable, fast to travel and no loud music so you can talk easily. Even brought my motorcycle to Roatan for a fair price and it didn’t got a single scratch.

This botanical garden was originally an experimental center for tropical plants created by Dr. Wilson Popenoe in 1925. Today, it is the home to one of the most important collections of exotic plant species in Latin America, especially fruit trees and timber, which give the place a unique landscape. Lancetilla was named after a small palm, Astrocaryum standleyanum, which is native to the area. It is one of the most important gardens in America. Not visiting Lancetilla is not visiting Tela.
