Journey with us into our secret 'lost world' nestled in the heart of wet tropical rainforest. Escape the crowd as you are guided through our sustainable bushfood orchard in a small personalised group and taste the native fruits, raw and natural as evolution created them. Relax and enjoy a delicious bushfood morning tea while you hear about the stories of the valleys early settlers.
This tour is so well worth the time and money. Margo and Peter are wonderful hosts and guides. We spent a lovely afternoon wandering through the fruit trees, learning about the orchard. What a beautiful setting for a tour!! These guys really know their stuff when it comes to native fruits. Tasting fresh (and frozen out-of-season) fruits from the orchard was an experience! Native Australian fruits might not be to everyone’s tastes, but we definitely enjoyed it. This was followed up by an amazing spread of food, local cheeses, tea, and home baked goodies featuring the fruits, all laid out on the verandah, overlooking the orchard. We were even lucky enough to spot a cassowary wandering through the orchard! We’ll definitely be back again with more visitors. Thank you so much Margo and Peter!

G'day mate! Looking for a fun day out for the family? Welcome to Kur-Cow Barnwell Farm - a working cattle station located in tropical North Queensland. We've got activities to entertain the whole family! We are also open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner! Bookings essential.
Popped up to KUR-Cow on a cosy winter Saturday morning for a fun activity (we wanted to try ATV quad biking!). The course was great fun, the instructor, Jennifer was lovely and gave us two options of a more basic route... or a more adventurous option... We took the latter through the creek, stopping to feed the bull and cows (and a baby calf) on the way! After the ATV we stayed for lunch, while it was cooking we got to feed the horses, goats, alpacas and ponies as well as have a look at the bird menagerie. The food was epic! We sat with an incredible view of the rainforest... and some of the best ribs I've had in Cairns (we went for the low n slow lunch as we were there early... But talking to the staff they mentioned better for evening BBQ (they also said they host a sunset view, which I think would be nice, so thinking of driving back again one evening). There aren't any signs, but easy enough to find with Google maps or sat nav, at the junction it top of Kuranda range just follow the road opposite (reverse direction) to Kuranda Village. Overall definitely worth a morning trip, and tempted to go back for a horse ride and sunset BBQ!

A most interesting place to have a delicious cup of home grown coffee. Australian owned and family run- I think 3 generations! - the best was chatting with the family members and watching the movie telling of their highs and lows of starting a business and seeing their determination to make a go of it. Very inspiring. Their focus is promoting and undertaking a sustainable ethical business definitely needed for our future. Fantastic food, coffee and ambience. Highly recommend the coffee and watching the movie as a small package. Scones were homemade as well. :-)
