Its unique landscape, the clear skies that make it a perfect enclave for astronomic observation and rich gastronomy. It ascends the more than 4,000 meters of height of the Andean plateau to discover small towns that keep intact their customs in the middle of the extremes that are worth photographing. Explore the desert and highest point such as geothermal field located at 4300 meters above sea level in the Andean Mountain range. Did this trip in February. To sum it up it consists of 11 hours in a minivan to visit three churches in Chiloe, none of them is interesting unless you are an academic interested in the technical details of wooden church building in the mid 19th century. However good the guides are (and our guide was excellent) this piece of Chile is not worth visiting. The drive to Castro in Chiloe island comprises a 70km motorway run to a ferry and then more than two hours driving along a scruffy, semi industrialised road with no redeeming features to Castro. On arrival the only logical question is "why bother". There are so many beautiful places in Chile I would suggest that people give this excursion a swerve and prevent the total waste of a day of their lives.

We are young physicians and health workers starting our career fighting coronavirus in the United States who booked a Perla de Bolivia tour for April 2020. We could not go because of our work, and gave this company 4 weeks' notice that we would not be able to travel due to our work. Of course, it was also unsafe to travel and our flights were all canceled as well due to COVID. We would not be able to use any vouchers due to the nature of our work and unpredictability of our schedules. Perla de Bolivia originally said they would refund us the entire amount, and then reneged on their promise. They are the only tour operators to do this and we found it shameful they will not offer us a refund despite COVID and our work.

We received a booking confirmation on Friday and on Monday (the day of the tour) the company didn’t show up. And we received an email saying that we won’t get a refund because the tour was made. So, I don’t recommend, in my opinion this is a fake and you can possibly lose your money.

We booked a full day trip to the Altiplano lagoons red rocks, etc out of San Pedro de Altacama. The guide was subcontracted to Maxim Experience, who was 25 minutes late and had not inspected the van - the overhead AC was leaking and the back seats, where we sat, were wet. The guide gave the man next to us a roll of toilet paper to plug the leak. A little while later a new van was called, so we waited more. The new van was even smaller than the first, unacceptable for a full day trip so we left the tour. On the positive, Ando Libre promptly provided a full refund.

Much of this great success was thanks to the wonderful day tours (we did 6 of them) and experience provided by SORBAC. We had time to enjoy each of the attractions, very good information (from Culture to Nature) to learn a lot. Food was great as well, and the staff was super friendly!! Thanks a lot!

Awesome, 4-person tour with a fabulous guide! You start early in the morning (6:00-6:30 am) and drive to the flamingo reserve. We were the first to enter the park and enjoyed a nice walk prior to breakfast. Breakfast was very nice, including hot eggs. After another hike, we headed to a small village (Socaire) where we interacted with a woman knitting gloves and purchased incredible volcanic rocks. We had a nice stroll through Tocanic village where we made our way around the water and lush fruit trees. I'm not sure our hike was supposed to be part of the tour but it was a great spot! I highly recommend this tour. Make sure they don't try to put you on another tour if the # of sign-ups is low. You are paying for a small group and it was part of why the tour was great (in addition to the guide).

We booked a return tour from San Pedro Atacama to Uyuni salt flat. Overall the tour was amazing. We were lucky to have Wilson as our guide. He was driving carefully, giving a lot of info about the sights (in Spanish only), and he is also good at taking photos, which was useful at the salt flats. Communication prior to the tour was good too, Gabriel was always available to answer our questions. The slight downside was dealing with addional requests. Another couple from our group didn't get the private bathroom they paid for. The change of the driver in Uyuni, after the main part if the tour was finished, was a bit of unpleasant surprise. If you join this tour pack soap, sanitiser and toilet paper, as hygenic facilities are basic.
