One of Asmara’s finest architectural buildings from the 1930’s, sitting over a large area, with exquisite frescoes and prominent tower that can be seen from any part of the city. It is one of the capital city’s outstanding landmarks. Up on entering its inside chamber, one is reminded of the many eminent cathedrals in Rome and other parts of Italy. It is no wonder that Asmara is sometimes aptly dubbed as ‘Little Rome’.

It's really hard to get materials and new goods in Eritrea, so at Medeber that take old metal, rubber, etc., and make what people need. It's fascinating to see. Also, it's a great place to get your berbera, if you need that. Recommend one visit to see the make-do attitude on display here.

Fiat Tagliero is one of Asmara’s finest futuristic architectures built, according to the experts, circa 1938 by an Italian engineer. It has overstretched wings, spanning several meters without any support, resembling that of an airplane about to fly. It is indeed an architectural masterpiece.
