If you’re into eating locally and supporting sustainable agriculture, go to Asheville—and eat, eat, eat. This town of less than 100,000 people has 17 farmers’ markets, and the local restaurant scene is all about taking advantage of the seasonal produce sold there. And don’t miss the area’s microbreweries.

My wife and I had the opportunity to make a glass in the "Hot Shop" today. Last time we were in Asheville, we found this spot too late to participate, so we were sure to make arrangements this time. It was a "blast"!!! The staff were welcoming and warm . Our instructor, Stephanie, was fantastic. She explained everything, made us feel at ease and comfortable and was very knowledgeable. Being able to make our own blown glass tumbler was great addition to our trip to Asheville. I highly recommend this experience.

Cottage Cooking is a cooking class business in Asheville, NC. We specialize in dinner party cooking classes for couples, girl's nights, family nights, etc.
I took the Cooking with Beer class with a girlfriend and it was THE perfect little Friday night party! Everything was hands-on, the instructions were easy to follow, and I loved sitting down to the meal we prepared at the end! My girlfriend and I both considered ourselves decent cooks walking in but we learned so many neat tips AND walked away with recipes neither of us would have attempted on our own prior to this class. John & Liisa have such a fabulous energy and I can't recommend this highly enough. I'm already scouting classes to take with my husband!

Pam is a terrific instructor. She was well organized and prepared with all the necessary supplies. The studio was lovely, easy to find and appropriately equipped. In just two hours I learned numerous marbling techniques and finished lots of paper in a rainbow of colors that I was able to choose from. I also got to marble a beautiful silk scarf and was super happy with the results and all I was able to take home. I would do this again and recommend it to others. A fun activity for locals and visitors alike.

Ofri was an amazing host who led the whole group into making a delicious meal consisting of two types of gnocchi, two different sauces, a caprese salad, and profiteroles. Ofri showed us tips on how to make preparing these dishes easier and ensure nothing was overcooked. She even offered to take a group photo! I booked this class to have a great bonding experience with my new fiancé and we had no regrets! Would repeat and highly recommend anyone in the Asheville area to take this cooking class, meet great people and warm host, and enjoy a great tasting meal.

I've taken one virtual class at Purple Crayon, and was blown away by how well it was coordinated, how knowledgeable and thorough the instructor, Katie Conklin, was, and how much fun I had. It was a wonderful, encouraging and energizing virtual space to be in -- and that is extremely hard to do! I can't wait to take in-person classes here soon. Highly recommend taking a class here!
