Safaris represent a very special experience and it was great to feel you can just seat back and let the experts plan the very best for you. Safari Soles were recommended to me by a friend that went on a Safari with them in January, so when I decided to also go on a Safari in April, I got in contact with them. From that first contact communication went very smooth, Bryson was very attentive to my requests and, through his experience, helped to shape the itinerary of the Safari, as to maximize the experience. I received his support when booking the accommodation in Arusha, for the beginning and end of our Safari, after having my sights set on the Rivertrees Country Inn. He helped us obtain the best rates per night, better than what was offered through booking.com and also a lot more flexible. And this flexibility really came in handy after having our arrival flight to Kilimanjaro airport delayed and couldn't leave towards Ngorongoro National Park, the same day, as planned, since our accommodation was inside the park, and we weren't able to reach it before the closign of the park gates. So, on a very short notice, Bryson saved the day :) - we went directly to the Rivertrees Country Inn and started the Safari the next day. He could arrange so that we could go first to Serengeti and then to Ngorongoro, and changed the accommodation date for Ngorongoro. I don't know what we would have done, if we were to have booked the accommodation by ourselves. Also, I need to say that Safari Soles's prices are really good compared to other Safari companies. I was in contact with other Safari companies as well, but their prices were significantly higher. Bryson even helped us do a balloon Safari in Serengeti, after deciding to go for this experience from one day to another. Our guide and driver, David Simba, was very knowledgeable and we could find out a lot of interesting infos about the wildlife; also, he's a nice guy to be around, we felt safe with him and he organized the best lunches for us in the park. So Safari Soles is a great team, you really feel you receive support from them when needed, and they go that extra mile to make sure the experience is one of a kind. Definitely recommend them!

2. Microfinance family farm tour - all proceeds to charity

Happy Family Children's Village, Unnamed Road, Nkoaranga, Tanzania The Small Things

Come and experience Tanzanian culture outside of your safari! Together, we will visit Mama Max, an incredible woman who has fought her way out of severe poverty, through business training and microfinance provided by a community nonprofit, The Small Things. First you'll get a quick overview of our work empowering children, families, and communities at Happy Family Children's Village, although, for child protection, you should not expect direct contact with children. Next, we will walk or drive to Mama Max's house (depending on what you would prefer), while I tell you about how our business development program helps families like hers to keep children at home. When we arrive, we will share traditional chai tea and locally grown coffee. If you like, help cut vegetation for the animals, check the chicken's nests for eggs, and milk the cow. You'll come away with a deeper appreciation of the strength of women like Mama Max who have climbed out of poverty.

Inclusions: Tea and a snack will be provided on all tours

Exclusions: Lunch can be provided for an extra $5 USD.

3. Private Tour of Lake Duluti with Lunch

Arusha, Tanzania Africa Outland Tours

RECORDED the MOST peaceful place in east Africa. A place called Lake Duluti in the Arusha area of Tanzania. Lake Duluti use to be a mountain sitting between Mt. Meru and the Great Mt. Kilimanjaro ⛰ but collapsed and is now a crater lake, diving as deep as 700 kilometers at the center. During our canoe ride we learned that Lake Duluti inhabits a plethora of birds and blue monkeys who live and swing through and live in the canopies. The sounds of the lake are of those that are almost completely foreign to the ears of a city boy. And simply to have two working eyes could easily become the greatest gift in the world..
