We were amazed by this gem of a park in Green Valley. The Master Gardeners have done a fantastic job. So many interesting plants, places to sit and relax, paths to follow. You can find all sorts of wildlife here and a great little corner that sells plants and other useful items. We try to visit hear a couple of times a week.

I like Benson. There is a painter that makes paintings all in the town of Benson. He even put his dog and himself in one of this painting. They like locomotives and anything about the town. It is fun to find the paintings. What a great idea. We enjoyed these paintings. A must see! Wow!

We visited with our three kids (6, 12 & 15 yrs) in late July. It was pretty hot, so this was an easy hike. The Grand Canyon Railway dropped us off near (up the stairs and past Verkamp's Visitor Center) one end of the Trail of Time, so it was a perfect choice for our intro to the GC. The trail is about 1.4 miles of paved flat walkway with beautiful views all along. Benches and small shade trees provide a respite from the heat of summer. Exhibits line the trail showing trillions of years of rocks found in the GC layers. It was probably very interesting, but my kids didn't slow down enough to appreciate them.

The Yavapai County Courthouse Square in Prescott is a beautiful structure set in a lovely park environment. Trees and grass are everywhere. This provides a great place for rest or a nice walk around the square. At Christmas, the square is brilliant with lights and decorations. There are public bathrooms on the basement side that faces Montezuma St. In addition, flags adorn the walkway to the courthouse steps, and there are many interesting statues to view.

The Navajo Tribal Park is located at Window Rock right next to the Navajo Nation's Tribal Headquarters. There is a memorial honoring the "Navajo Code Talkers" as well as memorials for the fallen warriors of the tribe all set in a stunning location.
