Ardmore's rich religious history began in the 5th century with the arrival of St. Declan. A medieval cathedral and tower stand today, offering a glimpse into period architecture—and a fantastic view of Ardmore Bay. The village itself is quaint and lively, with cafes, pubs and cottages. Several nice beaches are nearby, and visitors can explore the area on foot for more captivating views.

On a sunny day this is a very pleasant walk. Spectacular scenery. You can do a circular walk or double walk and get a second look at the amazing scenery. Loved this village.

Excellent day out. Animals are well looked after and the enclosures are very clean compared to other pet farms. Theres a great variety too. Theres lots of other activities like an indoor playground, slide, maze, barrel train and games area.

Known locally as Ardmore Round tower and cathedral Abbey I visited on a winter's day and even then the rugged landscape and the ocean view in the background was stunning, The stunning 12th century architecture is breathtaking, The site is free and also a graveyard, so a little respect is needed, The tower is in almost perfect condition, it was a secure fortress with the door about 20 ft high, capable of defending the site and monks from attackers. Its located on a hill with views of incoming invaders from the sea, however now its hight offers tourists stunning views of the ruin with the celtic sea in the backdrop. One note is this is 45 miles from Waterford city and transport is needed to get there.

One cannot miss this tower as it is quite prominent on Ardmore Peninsula. Visiting it, you will see that it is a part of history well preserved. Not sure if there are any tours around it. We ventured around the tower and there was also a historical graveyard and monastery. Would definitely consider visiting again

Peace and quiet, very empty for our visits, but might be busy in the season. Still plenty of space and more than enough swimming and exploring space for all. A wonderful experience.
