The city is located 280 km (170 mi) northeast of Rome, on the Adriatic Sea, between the slopes of the two extremities of the promontory of Monte Conero, Monte Astagno and Monte Guasco.

If you are going to Greece for 3 weeks or more, the best and most economical way is to take your own car and enjoy the comfort of the Minoan Ferry Boat. The trip to Ancona give plenty of opportunities to see the beauty of Italy (f.i. the Dolomites, Como lake, Venice,Tuscany, Florence etc etc). Driving on to the Ferry is as easy as parking in an underground garage and after that, it is just relax and enjoy. The food is good - Greek&Italian - the facilities adequate, the cabins clean and comfortable. After a good night sleep, you arrive fresh and relaxed. Highly recommended!
