Super service, the young polish waiter, give Him a raise. Very kind and helpful. Good coffee Cozy spot, great view to the Central Station, the Amsterdam Bibliotheek, the Conservatorium and the Nemo Science. Museum. Its a few minute walk from the crowded turist centrum wich is perfect if you want the full local experience Will come again. ????????

Café ZILT is a small and intimate bar on the Zeedijk, in the heart of Amsterdam. We serve over 100 beers of which many local brews; 12 beers are always on tap. Our shelves boast more than 130 whiskies from all around the globe ( bourbon and rye included ) and our 'top shelf' includes some great jenever, rum, gin and other wonderfully crafted spirits and liqueurs. We think we play the best music in town and that means no greasy kids' stuff. Spent the night in here on Sat 10 Nov and had such a giggle! Great atmosphere with everyone singing and supporting whoever was on the mike. Reasonably priced drinks! Met some lovely people from Scotland, Sweden and the guy from Cuba - you have the voice of an angel. The evening flew past. Warning though make a reservation if you want a guaranteed slot at the weekend. And just wish the bar was twice as big! Oh and a pretty good selection of songs, only a few of our selections were not available - get some Muse on the system guys!!!! A great night was had by all.

Finished dinner and fancy some great live music? Or maybe you want play pool first, like me, then eat and THEN enjoy brilliant/boss/cool live music? The Waterhole had it all! Since it has been under new management, (i founf out at the bar) The Waterhole boasts an excellent restaurant upstairs with your own Beer tap!...Three pool tables next to the bar and stage...the friendliest barstaff...State of the art sound and live mixing from every corner of the venue via iPad (and I know a few things about sound!)...a great choice of "frosty pints", bottled beers, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks...and above all....some of the best LIVE MUSIC EVERY NIGHT...with styles on the programme which I found on Instagram and Facebook, ranging from solo acoustic to full on rock, blues, funk, soul, rap and ROCK! I can truly say that it was my Waterhole LIve Music Bar Heaven! I went on a Tuesday night, when there was a jam session with a cool band and some great musicians and singers who joined them until the wee small hours!

Melkweg stands for pop culture in the most broad of senses. Been to a couple of concerts here in the last year or so, Tarrus Riley & more recently Bad Manners. One of the concerts was in the bigger hall which must have had the highest stage I have ever seen which makes the rush to get to the front not really that important as no matter where we stood we had a great view. Bad Manners was in the smaller hall which was really intimate and had a balcony which provided an excellent view. There were plenty of lockers around to store anything you needed to and entrance was very straight forward. The Melkweg is in a great location right next to bars, restaurants etc.
