After reading the trip advisor reviews below my parents and I thought we would go check it out. We are so glad we did! What a wonderful shop! After walking around town earlier that day we were exhausted by the push to buy at the tourist shops that all had the same things that were not at all handmade. The craft center was a breath of fresh air! When we arrived we were greeted by a beautiful garden with so many curious antiques tastefully placed here and there. Inside is this beautiful home that has been turned into a classy boutique. We got lost in the rooms with beautiful, high quality, truly handmade merchandise ranging from antiques to new. Here you will find unique gifts such as glassware, ceramics, wooden boxes, soaps, trinkets, inlaid furniture, mirrors, pillows, jewelry, antique jewelry, scarfs, handmade blouses, dresses and Knick knacks of all sorts. The real gem here are the various textiles. Meeting the owner Achmed and his colleague was such a treat! They are so kind and hospitable and are there to help you with whatever you may be looking for. They are not pushy and give you space to explore around this magical house. All 2 floors of beautiful things! Back to the textiles though.. you are in for a treat if you like unique, one of a kind scarfs and appreciate fine works of art. Achmed truly has a talent for preserving ancient stories and designs on silk. His works are beautiful masterpieces ranging from geometric to organic patterns with a romantic touch. Meeting him and seeing the passion in his creations is something I will hold dear in my fond memories of our travel to Jordan. Thank you Jordan Craft Center for sharing your hospitality and passion with us!

Ola's Garden

Ola's Garden an exquisite collection of contemporary crafts. Jewelry pieces made from natural materials, leather work, mosaic, collage paintings, embroidery. Also I provide courses in Creative Jewelry Making. My recent style reflects an interest in nature, humans and heritage, committed to design rather than trends, I design directly from life. My materials are from Jordan nature: wood, sand, leaves, paper, coffee, tea, leather, beads and some old abandoned treasures I find in my way, beauty never dies it emerges in deferent way; just keep your mind open for new possibilities. I opened my workshop at the beautiful Khirfan Street the oldest street in Amman; Located just off the end of Rainbow Street in the trendiest part of town, my Garden provides a cozy little haven to spend time peacefully admiring the many items on display. I treasured every aspect of the place. With my jazz music playing; you can feel the soul of every brick dancing, sparkling on my works Whether you come to Ola's Secret Garden to buy a special gift, learn jewelry making or just to talk art; you are always welcome. Sincerely yours Ola Mubaslat

This is a very interesting concept for wine lovers, it offers a large variety of wine by the same brand “Jordan River”, a good variety of grapes and years. My favorite was Shiraz 2011 aged for 5 years in oak barrels then bottled and stored in Cellars. Cabernet Sauvignon is always great. A good selection of quality bar food, cheese and cold cuts, served with wine jam and wine bread. The hero of the place is a highly professional sommelier named Issa, ask him for anything and he will provide an honest advice

Darat al Funun

Reviewed By MayC309 - Shoreham-by-Sea, United Kingdom

Took us a while wandering some small back streets in order to find this gallery. It was so worth it. You go in via a small wrought iron gate, up a few stairs and find yourself looking at the remarkable remains of the Byzantine church of St George. There is not very much left but a few columns, however the space and tranquillity of the setting is lovely. The path winds up through the garden to the galleries and a small cafe. The exhibition we saw had a powerful emotional impact.....photographs of life for people in Palestine. The coffee in the cafe courtyard also packed a punch and there is a great view of the city. In the morning we had visited the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, which was good but the atmosphere here was so much more vibrant. If you only have time for one gallery make it this one.
