Amersham Museum

Reviewed By McMahonSydney - London, United Kingdom

We stumbled across the museum by accident, and didn't really have any plans to go in, but the very friendly and welcoming staff enticed us to have a visit, and we were so glad we did! It turned out to be a very pleasant hour or so and one of the highlights of our stay in Amersham! The museum is very interesting - well laid out, informative, with a good balance of history, local insight and visual exhibits. There's some good stuff for children too. The building itself is very old and a story in itself. The best bit for me was the garden - I wasn't expecting one, but it is beautiful! Really nicely looked after and full of herbs, with a plenty of information boards describing the plants and what their medicinal benefits are. If you are ever in Amersham I would highly recommend a visit! I think all local museums would do well to visit the Amersham museum and take a leaf out of their book.

The Hatchery Farm Shop

Reviewed By FiofBucks - Gerrards Cross, United Kingdom

I've been a customer for a few years now and I find The Hatchery to be quite unique and a real blessing in terms of being able to find quality, organic produce. There's a great price on meats and eggs - much sourced from the farm itself and amazing service. Meals, cooked on the premises can be pre-ordered and there's a huge range of diverse, locally sourced products including hand made cards, locally made jams and pickles, plants, juices and chocolates. During Covid-19 it's delivery service has been a lifeline. Jen is ingenious with sourcing goods, encouraging local providers and finding things that are a little bit different - especially for those with dietary needs.

The Amersham Fair Organ Museum

Reviewed By Inspire42158747373 - High Wycombe, United Kingdom

How could we not have known of this great place after living nearby for over 30 years! We found out via IANVISITS a web based guide to Whats On. Starting with working out why the SatNav didn't locate it to walking around the corner and seeing their signpost; traditional signposts always work when your phone fails you. Led in by the sound of organ pipes playing traditional melodies we were greeted by a cuppa and cake to spend listening to 4 hours of delightful music from these beautifully restored fair organs. We even won a prize in the raffle. Go find this time machine and be whisked back to a time when automation was first replacing musicians, perhaps the first AI. Keep restoring and preserving these wonderful pieces of automation and they will live forever to enliven future generations lives.

I booked a treatment with this Red House Spa for the first time and recommend it highly ,simp,y fabulous Rebecca the owner greeted me with a smile and served delicious coffee and Maltesers while I relaxed ahead of my treatment ; Jelena my therapist was highly professional; really interested in making this the best experience for me : no sense of being hurried and she really seemed to enjoy her job and put the customer experience as her priority. The absolyicing on the cake was an impromptu glass of bubbly ???? My plan is to return for their HD brow treatment and try out a yoga class
