From canyons to old Cadillacs and gigantic steaks to grand scenery, the city is an Old West enthusiast's dream. One of the country's best collections of Western art and artifacts can be found at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. Mosey on over to the Amarillo Livestock Auction to mingle with real cowboys as they go about the business of buying and selling cattle. For those with interests that are more modern, the city boasts a great art museum and beautiful botanical gardens. If you're traveling with kids, don't miss the thrilling rides at Wonderland Park. The whole family will be in awe of the fantastic rock formations at Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

Enjoyed the collection and story behind the collection of old RV's and camping paraphernalia. Brought back a lot of memories of camping as a kid. Fun stop and thanks to Jack for putting this together and keeping it free to the public!

Cowgirls and Cowboys in the West is a Western Heritage attraction located on the rim of Palo Duro Canyon, in Amarillo, Texas- near historic Route 66. We offer horseback riding and other activities that focus on the heritage of the Real West. At our venue, we not only offer horseback riding, but also private and public chuck wagon meals for groups that includes cowboy entertainment, and a venue to learn about horsemanship, Old West History and also specific history of the Palo Duro Area. In addition, we also offer city tours, route 66 tours, and progressive tours that follow the trails of Cowboys and Indians and the trails leading up to the Santa Fe Trail. Join us and step back in time to the Old West, and experience ranching life in the New West.

Wondrerful trail ride leaders Grace and Brayden made sure we knew all we needed to have a relaxing horseback ride to view the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon; an as an added bonus we got a history lesson on the area. So nice to see young ladies being so refreshingly responsible!

Amarillo Escape and Mystery

Escape reality and become the sleuth because, here, we put you INSIDE the game. Based off popular online escape games, and the board game, Clue, our theme-based rooms puts your logic and teamwork skills to the test. Enter one of our escape rooms where the door will lock behind you. A clock begins ticking and you, along with other participants have 60 minutes to solve clues and escape the room.

This place was a BLAST. The rooms were very well themed, the puzzles were well thought out and intricate, and the staff was AWESOME. Definitely recommend this place whether you’re a seasoned escape room player or brand new and just wanting to try it out!

If you love: Airplanes, Space Travel and/or History, this is a must see. Small Museum that is big on information. The volunteer tour guides are full of stories about each plane.

I love it here so much, however , the cow that followed me here kinda seems like a safety hazard, they could attack maybe idk. I found a dead skunk here once which was pretty cool to see it in rigormortis & all the cute tadpoles in the water too! , I love the outdoors,nature,science, & wildlife
