What? A wine bar in the back of a western store? Yep! Have a good glass of wine or beer under the covered wagon! Saddles are bar stools and the entertainment is an old western movie playing on the big screen! It happens at Wine A Little! Nestled in the back of Mane Street Tack Consignment shop, this gem has been dubbed the best place to get away from it all!

I wrote a review (August 2016) after discovering Shenandoah Valley Road wine country outside Plymouth, which is a little over two hour ride from Bay Area. Last week, a friend invited me to join him visiting two wineries where he's a club member (Vino Noceto and CG DiArie); we had very pleasant time. However, I insisted we stop at Prospect Wines (on way home, on the main drag in Plymouth, which is also the only drag) and he was very favorably impressed even though the venue was not very elegant compared to the likes of Wilderooter and Villa Piazza. However, he concurred that the wines were excellent and the staff very friendly and informative. I've raised my rating to full five stars since all the wines were good-to-very-good and the experience very pleasant (not always the case at other wineries, some of whom are a little too impressed with themselves). That combination is a winner for me; having visited at least a hundred wineries over the years, I most remember venue and people and then the wine. Wine, of course, can vary a lot year to year, but the quality of the experience persists. So, make a point of stopping in to Prospect Wines and don't be put-off by the inelegance of the cinderblock building. Enjoy.
Uphill Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery that features award-winning limited-edition wines from grapes grown on its high-elevation Fiddletown vineyard.
