Jama Masjid is one of those revered shrines constructed in 1727 by Sabit Khan, the former ruler of Aligarh. The mosque carries with it the brilliance of Khan's architectural mind and artistic skills, the replica of which is hard to be find anywhere. The domes and minarets along with Sir Syed Ahmed Khan's tomb are major attractions here. Students of Aligarh Muslim University frequently come here to offer prayers.
