We visited Algeria for two weeks (21 of January up to 4th of February). We were a group of four friends. We visited Algiers (including Tipaza), Djanet, Djemila, Constantine, Timgad and Ghardhaia. We had a great time. No problems at all, people were really friendly, and we enjoyed our trip a lot. We arranged our trip with Mr. Fayeq Allnatour, from Ouirane Travel &Tours. Mr. Fayeq is very friendly, professional, trustworthy, attentive to our needs and highly efficient in taking care of any (minor) problems that appeared during the trip. He helped us with the visa invitation letter, all the entry formalities at the airport(s), and with all travel arrangements for our trip. We highly recommend his services for anyone who may be interested in visiting this wonderful country.

7. Algiers City Tour@By Ouirane Tours-Algeria

Ouirane Travel & Tours

A small Phoenician colony on Algiers's former islands was established and taken over by the Carthaginians sometime before the 3rd century bc. After the Punic Wars, the Romans eventually took over administration of the town, which they called Icosium. Its ruins now form part of the modern city's marine quarter, with the Rue de la Marine following a former Roman road. Roman cemeteries existed near Bab-el-Oued and Bab Azoun. The city was given Latin rights by the emperor Vespasian. The bishops of Icosium are mentioned as late as the 5th century, but the ancient town fell into obscurity during the Muslim conquest of North Africa.

It's a business and commercial....too many people....did not work for me. Family of 5 and the wrong price. The Camel ride was fun and our guide made the trip memorable. This is not the experience we have on a daily basis. I am not sure how well these animals are treated - which made me feel uncomfortable. The Quad bikes were good - but be aware there are no sand dunes- please see Sahara desert for more authentic scenery. There were no bonfires as in the photos - there could have been, but no one lit them. There was no sun set view as we were told there would be. My wifes Henna experience was disappointing. The evening dinner was drawn out over 3.5 hours - impersonal - no host or hostess during the evening dinner - tourist trap - there was music and dancing, but was short of atmosphere. No dessert either. One more thing - on top of the high price - you pay extra for the drinks...too much. We experienced wonderful hosting elsewhere in Marrakech and had a great vacation - Marrakech and the people are lovely - but am uncomfortable recommending this part.
