On January 2018, my friend and I spend a day in Alacala de Henares visiting the historic site around the center. It was original a Dominican convent, from the 17th century further refurbished. You can see mammoth skeletons, exhibition of Roman mosaics or our Arab or Christian culture. We watched an archaeological dig, with the explanations about the way of life of the people of the time . Entrance is free and have a gift shop.

We happened across this amazing old porticoed street on a sunny Sunday pm, full of families enjoying themselves and lots of outside seating with everyone happily enjoying food and drinks. Would really recommend a visit .

Very lively plaza with beautiful Town Hall building, imposing Torre de Santa Maria, Alcala University nearby, and the monument to Cervantes in the middle. It is favored both by the locals and tourists.

The Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes is located at the place where, according scholars, Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra's (1547-1616) family home was and where the litterateur was born and spent his early years. The different rooms of the building recreate the customs, tastes and daily activities of the 16th and 17th centuries, with the aim of feeling the presence of their inhabitants. The Museum also has an impressive collection of Cervantes' works from different periods and in different languages that are exhibited in the temporary exhibition room. The Museum provides a consolidated programme of activities of many different kinds: children's and adolescents' workshops, thematic visits, musical and theatrical performances, conferences, etc. The activities take place throughout the year, with special emphasis on dates that are important to the institution, such as International Book Day (April 23), Museum Night (May 18) and Cervantes Week (October 12).
This was the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes. The house is just amazing! I really love the courtyard and the different recreated rooms. When I visit the museum, there was a temporary exhibition on actors and actresses from the 16th-17th centuries.
