With great concert venues, an excellent art gallery, many fascinating sculptures, and many places to grab a bite, the University of Calgary itself is indeed an interesting attraction. I was up there recently to catch an important exhibition at the Nickle Galleries, but was very impressed with all the gorgeous architecture. There's still a fair amount of construction going on, but if they ever settle down a bit in that department, it will be a stunning campus!

Open September-May, the Alumni Museum maintains an impressive collection of archives and artifacts that ensure our rich century-long history is preserved as a legacy for future generations. The collection is used by members of the college community for reference or displayed at events showcasing Olds College’s distinguished achievements. It is maintained by our dedicated Museum Committee, a group of caring volunteers

This natural history and Canadian First Nations museum is named after Norman Luxton who once operated a trading post in the Banff area. Come in for a tour of what life was like for First Nations before settlers came and then view authentic First Nations artifacts, borrowed from both personal collections and the Glenbow Museum. Tours of the Buffalo Nations Luxton Museum guided by staff who are local First Nations. Ask questions, learn and experience something truly Canadian.
I thoroughly enjoyed the authentic artifacts, displays and dioramas depicting the life and culture of the First Nation people who lived in this part of Canada. The museum is owned and operated by a Council of First Nation representatives and is a must see for anyone having an interest in First Nation history. Ideal for families and children. Convenient location on the river, near the Main St. bridge.
