Ligaria Beach

Reviewed By philbo45 - Heraklion, Greece

Ligaria Beach is a somewhat lesser-known cousin of its neighbor Agia Pelagia. Tucked away in a safe cove, this fantastic seaside resort town/beach is perfect for lapping up the Cretan sun, practicing watersports, or just partying and resting in island tranquil style. You'll find numerous fine tavernas, villas and other accommodations, and plenty of shops to buy suntan lotion in. The crystal shallow waters are idyllic, the views spectacular, and the fun is guaranteed. Highly recommended.

Psaromoura Beach

It's a lovely little, rather quiet beach with comfortable sunbeds for reasonable prices. 13 Euros for two sunbeds at the waterline for a day. Definitely to be recommended. Note: On weekends it can get crowded. Visit the beach during the week if you are on holidays, you'll get to enjoy it more ;)

Mononaftis Beach

Reviewed By Mumuchuchu - Cannock, United Kingdom

Only 5 minutes down the steep hill from our hotel Blue Bay resort. Water was so clear that you could see the fishes swimming around your feet. Be careful as first part is mostly gravel then a bit of sand but a very slippery rock surface before you can start swimming. Taverns and shops were closed due to time of the day and end of the season but well worth a walk down.

The beach has transparent waters, it’s organized , has chairs and parasols which you pay for the whole day. It’s very convenient. The beach is perfect for romance moments and to have great meals in the restaurantes beside the sea. Amazing place !
