Visited Saturday 1/23 to grab some of our favorite basil infused olive and compliments to the young man that assisted us. Ended up getting some lemon infused white balsamic vinegar and premium white balsamic vinegar. Then saw some biscottis that are amazing! Definitely we’d to stop in if you’re in Lake Placid!!

Mirror Lake has it all - wonderful views; calm lake water; a 2.7 mile interlocking brick pathway all the way around, including part of the downtown street; a small sandy beach; a toboggan run in winter right onto the frozen lake!; kayaks to rent; flowers and flowering shrubs in May/June; and I must have forgotten something! We walked the loop 3 times during our week's stay, and saw walkers, joggers, families, mom's with strollers! Mirror Lake is well worth the stay in Lake Placid!

Excellent time hiking with my wife and two grown boys and future daughter in-law. Easy hike, beautiful trail with several great views along the way. Great views at top also. Went earlier in the morning, were the only ones on top for at least 30 minutes. Trail was very busy on way down. Many people hiking up.

Stumbled across this place 4 years ago and had to go back this trip to Lake Placid to pick up their delicious maple syrup. It's truly the best.

North Creek is full of creative people and you can see that on Main Street with the mosaic project. Talented artists painting away and displaying their works of art.

Highly recommend if you are visiting Lake Placid ... The church was toward the end of a beautiful street in Lake Placid, only a few blocks away from the downtown area ... beautiful old church where one can feel the presence of God.

The 3,000-acre Paul Smith's College VIC features 6 miles of interpretive trails and 8 miles of back country trails that showcase the natural beauty of the Adirondack Mountains and provide unparalleled opportunities to view, hear, photograph, and enjoy nature. Free admission. The VIC also offers a wide variety of arts, sports, and educational programs throughout the year, including bird walks and nature walks, trail runs, children's educational programs, art exhibits, concerts, lectures, workshops, and naturalist-led paddles. A native-species Butterfly House is open during the summer months. During the winter months, the trails are groomed and open for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and skate skiing for a fee.
My wife and I snowshoe at Paul Smith's College this past Thursday. Bring exact change to buy your daily pass and it is on the honor system. All of these trails were beautifully groomed and very well marked for classic cross-country skiing, skating and or snowshoeing. We were snowshoeing on beautiful trails with beautiful scenery toward the Jenkins Mountain lookout. Unfortunately we did not time it will and did not make it all the way to the lookout but what we saw was absolutely stunning. The privies along the side were quite amusing and we took quite a few pictures. In the five hours we were there we only soar to loan skiers, two skiers from the college doing their work out and another young couple looking like their first time on cross-country skis. If you can go during the week. We will be going back there hopefully next year.
