What to do and see in Adelaide, South Australia: The Best Multi-day Tours

May 5, 2022 Jasper Kershner

The capital city of South Australia is simply enchanting, a treasure trove of shopping, fine arts, gastronomy and outdoor activity. Adelaide is the heart of the world's opal industry, selling gorgeous stones from South Australian mines. Be sure to hike the aptly named Mt. Lofty Ranges and catch a wave off the Fleurieu Peninsula. Indulge your adventurous palate and traipse into nearby wine regions like the famed Barossa Valley to pick up a deliciously drinkable souvenir.

Went for this 6 days/5 nights camping tour of Esperance and South West coast of WA (ex-Perth). Sean was our great guide and we had 12 people on the tour, commencing on 27th December and finishing on 1st January. Smooth booking experience thanks to Cassey from booking office. They were kind enough to accommodate me against a cancellation. One of the best holidays I ever had thanks to a great effort by Sean over 6 days. A great guy he kept the group engaged, has excellent knowledge of the places and guided the group efficiently through the week. Cooking for a variety of dietary requirement, driving long distances, setting the camp, giving our group a memorable experience...definitely he made a big difference to our experience. This tour covers one of the most beautiful part of the country - white sandy beaches of Esperance & Cape Le Grande, Denmark, Albany, Walpole, Pemberton, Peaceful Bay, Margaret River region. Covers the must-do spots (and a lot more) for the South West region of WA. Probably the only tour which covers this region (and budget friendly). Those who haven’t done camping trip before, this is pretty well catered when it comes to food and essentials. All camp sites had clean, spacious well maintained showers and toilets. And Sean helped us pick up important camping skills during the trip! A must do trip for anyone travelling to Western Australia.

We had a private full day tour of Port Lincoln with Beebs/Ian. My friends and I have all said this was by far the highlight of our South Australia trip! Beeb’s knowledge was amazing and he was so much fun we learned so much about the history of Port Lincoln and spent the whole day laughing. Our first stop was brilliant! We fed both birds and kangaroos from the palm of our hands it was an unforgettable experience. We tasted the most delicious fish at the fresh fish shop and saw the most spectacular sites of the National Park, places we never would have found on our own. We finished off the day spotting wild Koalas in the trees. 5/5 stars this trip is a must do if you are in Port Lincoln and it would have not have been as enjoyable without our brilliant tour guide. Thanks again Beebs Katie, Amy and Maeve

We used sealink to get from kangaroo Island to Adelaide and the service was generally good. Check in was easy in KI however clerk was not that helpful as I was unsure about luggage. Next time I will know! There is a luggage van - self serve - which actually comes off the ferry when it arrives. Easy once you know. Actual crossing was pretty rough so suggest sit in seats near rear of boat and very convenient to bathrooms! Our link from ferry to bus at Cape Jervois was easy - remember you have to collect your bag and put it on to bus yourself. There is a food outlet on the ferry but we only found this out near the end of our trip and it had just closed - arghh. (They don’t tell you!). A little more organisation and this would have been a wonderful experience.

This was an excellent, and fun, tour. Saw lots of interesting things. Highlights included swimming with the sea lions at Baird Bay, swimming at Talia Beach in the rockpools and an oyster picnic on the beach at Coffin Bay. Our guide, Altair, was great, entertaining and informative. Food was excellent, and our campsites were very good. I love camping in swags under the stars. We had a good group of 17 for the tour and we had loads of fun during our 6 days together. One glitch we had was the bus breaking down on day 1, but that was resolved with a replacement bus sent from Adelaide and we were on our way within a couple of hours. Its good to know that your tour company is capable of dealing effectively and quickly with problems like this. I'd happily travel with Nullabor Traveller again (eyeing off the Esperance trip sometime in the next year).
