We booked an excellent 'hawk walk' experience though Virgin for 3/4 hour. Just the two of us (in our 50s) and and the knowledgeable keeper Ross. We took a stroll to the falconry arena area then on to the public parkland/woods down the lane, with the harris hawk freely following by choice. We had the hawk land on our hand about 5 times each from the posts and trees. The experience includes entry to the falconry which is much bigger and better than we expected - loads of birds (including owls and vultures), and meerkats, skunks, racoons and ferrets - so spent the few hours there. All had great enclosures and were well looked after. Saw an impressive flight demonstration show in the arena too for about half an hour - not just the usual birds of prey - a little owl, kookaburra and cute running/jumping seriema too. The falconry centre is part of a big garden centre complex including a restaurant, cafe, farm shop, clothing, and a few outdoor farm animals (alpacas, rhea, goats) so you can make a whole day out. There's even a soft play, carousel and playground for young ones (though limited opening in Aug due to covid). Superb, and surpassed our expectations!!

Visited with friends the first Saturday we were allowed after easing of lockdown. Online booking was really efficient, staff friendly and helpful. We were sitting outside and felt very safe (just need to remember a coat next time!!!) Beer was great and non beer drinkers enjoyed the local cider! Thank you to all the team for adapting to the rules.

Our philosophy at Bothy Vineyard is to produce the highest quality wines from grapes cultivated in as environmentally-friendly a way as possible. We continue an ancient tradition of wine making in the Vale of the White Horse, Oxfordshire. The local micro-climate, warm sandy soils, long ripening season and mature vines produce wines of consistent depth and quality which have won many awards. Visit us to experience the freshness and character of English wine at its best.
If you are visiting Oxfordshire, Bothy vineyard is a fantastic place to stop by. The owners are very passionate about wine and very welcoming. I enjoyed all stories and facts they shared with us and feel inspired to learn more about wine produced in England. It's a small, family run vineyard which makes this place even more special and their wine is delicious.

Kimber House is home to the MG Car Club - formed by the MG factory in 1930. We're the original club for MG owners, based in Abingdon and catering for all MG models. At the Club's home in Abingdon, we have various artefacts on show - from small MG models, and factory signs, to original 1930s documents and a fully restored engine. If you're in the area, come down and explore the world of MG!
Wonderful to "call in" and immediately feel at home. Spent time enjoying memorabilia and the history we know well being MG buffs. Don't forget to sign the visitors book....

We love our local cinema. Being able to order gin and tonic to drink at your table; who knew cinema could be such a treat! Friendly helpful staff, good screen size and sound quality, soooo much better than the multiplex. It make going to see a film a great night out. Thank you all at the Abbey

Modelling the past for the future. The benchmark for modelling excellence. Pendon's centrepiece exhibition of the Vale of White Horse is a re-creation of the rural landscape of the 1920s and 30s in breathtaking detail. Pendon is also home to our famous Dartmoor and Teignmouth Sea Wall scene models and the ground breaking Madder Valley Railway. Our volunteer guides provide informative descriptions about the history, geography, society and transport of the times. A fun and educational experience for all. We also offer a small tea room, museum shop and free wi-fi. Disabled parking and access available.
Superb if you understand modelling. Worth a visit if you appreciate quality models. It takes you back in time and is explained by knowledgable volunteers. I suggest you go round twice as you miss a lot the first time. Have a tea in small cafe area and go round again. A must place to visit for all modellers.
