Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

This was the most pleasant and enjoyable surprise of our entire trip to France. We booked this cooking class for Sunday and enjoyed spending the better part of the day with our host, Catherine Reed. The cooking class is very hands-on, Catherine made us feel welcome at all times. We cooked cheese soufflé, duck with mango chutney, green beans, potatoes (cooked in the duck fat) and crepes Suzette. Catherine walked us through the proper preparation but provided the reasoning behind many of the different aspects of French cooking. We couldn’t have had spent Sunday in Paris any better.

Jump into daily life in Paris with a visit to the open-air market followed by a hands-on cooking class and a four-course lunch paired with wine. The classes take place in a renovated 18th c townhouse, located in the 7th arrondissement around the corner from the Eiffel tower and a short walk from the market. Back in the kitchen, we will prepare lunch together.
We were fortunate to have Charlotte to ourselves. She gave us a tour of the market and we went to a cheese shop that was divine. She taught us how to cook spring chickens, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, we had a cheese plate and made a chocolate fondant with caramel sauce. It was all delicious. We had complementary wine, good conversation and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We would highly recommend this to anyone interested in learning about the Parisian market, cheese and how to cook some really delicious food.

Aurore is an absolutely wonderful instructor! She curated a genuinely Parisian cooking experience for us, from shopping at Rue Cler, to giving us the hands-on cooking experience, to teaching us about French cheese etiquette(handy knowledge for our next dinner party!). Definitely a must-do while in Paris!

LUTECE LANGUE is a French language school in Paris established for more than 20 years. We offer a wide range of French courses of all levels, for professional and personal use. Our aim is to provide a personalized teaching and we do this by keeping our classes small (2-7 students). We also provide English and other languages courses. Come and study the language of your choice at Lutèce Langue!
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Lutece Langue! I’ve worked with three different instructors there and liked them all. They challenge you without overwhelming you, and are all very easy-going, positive people. Classes are broken down according to standard levels (A1, A2, B1, etc), but the school takes this a step further and adds +s and -s to the levels to provide very targeted instruction. The price point is hard to beat in Paris, too. Having small class sizes is the greatest advantage, though. 5 students is the maximum per class, which means more speaking time and individual attention/direction. It also means having more opportunities to get to know your peers :) You’ll learn a ton. *Note about COVID: The school has taken serious measures to protect their students and professors. Masks are required, classrooms are cleaned OFTEN (I believe it’s 2x a day, with wipe downs during classes for selected activities), and hand sanitizer is required for entry and anytime anything is passed from one person to another. As I already mentioned, class sizes are small, so that’s a huge help in regard to limiting the spread of the virus.
We are 6 artists teaching drawing, painting and sculpture in one of the most touristic places in Paris! We would be delighted to meet you for indoor or outdoor workshops, visiting museums, in one to one classes or in groups. We also teach children from 3 years old. Just tell us what is your project and we will do our best to help you having a great artistic time in our beautiful city!
We’re the ultimate French food lovers and passionate about our culture, so we created “Maison Fleuret” to share truly unique moments with like-minded devotees like yourselves. Growing up, we learned how to cook traditional French dishes from our grandmothers, who passed down their appreciation for cakes and pastries. In the years since, we worked with chefs, took cooking masterclasses !
