Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia (Sinhalese: දෙහිවල-ගල්කිස්ස Dehiwala-Galkissa, Tamil: தெஹிவளை-கல்கிசை), population 245,974 (2012) is the second largest Municipality in Sri Lanka, and covers an extent of 2109 hectares. It lies south of the Colombo Municipal Council area and separated from it by the Dehiwala canal which forms the northern boundary of DMMC. Its southern limits lie in Borupana Road and the eastern boundary is Weras Ganga with its canal system and including some areas to its east (Pepiliyana, Gangodawila and Kohuwala). This town has extensive population and rapid industrialization and urbanization in recent years. It is home to Sri Lanka's National Zoological Gardens, which remains one of Asia's largest. Colombo South Teaching Hospital, Kalubowila and Colombo Airport, Ratmalana are some important landmark in this area. Dehiwela-Mount Lavinia and Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte being two large suburban centers of the city of Colombo function together as one large urban agglomeration in the Region (Western Province). The overspill from the City in residential and commercial uses of land have rapidly urbanised these suburban centers. Dehiwela-Mount Lavinia and Sri Jayawardenpaura along with Colombo Municipal Council form the most urbanized part of the core area of the Colombo Metropolitan Region. Dehiwala and Mount Lavinia lie along the Galle Road artery, which runs along the coast to the south of the country.

After a very long time we visited Mitsi's Delicacies. Unfortunately they do not serve breakfast anymore, especially their specialised sausages. However I ordered a seafood sandwich. It was serve with a small salad and french fries. Absolutely delicious. It is a shame we live so far away because we wouldgo there very often for a lunch.. .Thank you for stopping by and I am happy that you enjoyed your visit!

My boyfriend grew up in Mount Lavinia and so we went to visit Little Star during our holiday in Sri Lanka...I was blown away by how good it was! So much so that we went there for lunch three days in a row! The "short eats" (pastries/rotis) are perfect for lunch, followed by any of the amazing cakes on offer and washed down with a lovely iced coffee. Honestly could not recommend this place highly enough! Popular with the locals as well so it must be good :)

A great cafe to take kids. The shop is great to have a walk through, and is easy to find presents for family and friends. The Cafe at the rear is fantastic. The coffee is really good, food is really nice, and they had the best Choc Brownie in Sri Lanka!Dear Dean E,We couldn't hope for a nicer review. Thank you. And yes, kids are welcome. I've visited 3 or more times. Their pasta is magic. Loved their Thiramusu and also pizza (cant remember the kind). I Rreally enjoy going to Dolce Italia coz their recipes are authentic and has great flavour. Their atmosphere or ambiance can be upgraded in to a much nicer arrangement. However still a no.1 fan of thir food.

We ended up staying in the area of Mount Lavinia by accident and just happened to find this place close by. As two vegans we were more than excited to try this place out! Wow! Such an amazing little place with a great owner serving insanely good vegan brownies and ice cream. Probably the best vegan brownie I have ever had! The price is also very reasonable. We paid just over $6 for two brownies, two ice creams and two coffees. I highly recommend the peanut butter brownie and coconut chocolate ice cream. Enjoy!
