Visited this steakhouse for dinner last week. Nothing fancy. The steaks were lean and well cooked. Reasonable selection of international beverages. One of our party had the chicken burger and another had fish and chips. Both said it was nothing to write home about. Typically Norway is expensive compared to other European countries.Hi and thanks for you feedback. It sounded like you had an average evening and that it was nothing to write home about. We always aim for better experiences for our customers. It should be something to write home about :-).We take your feedback seriously, we will evaluate and hopefully you will have a better experience next time you visit. Thanks again.Best regardsJarle Unhjem (Owner)

FireLake is a contemporary grill restaurant concept from Minnesota, with Nordic influence, in the heart of the city. For Americans, in many world cultures, BBQ is much more than spices, sauces and meat. It is something that connects us all to our roots an
Going to a restaurant located in a hotel is often not the most exciting thing to do. But FireLake really is an exception. As the name suggests, it's a lot about "all things grilled", mostly different kinds of meat, but they have excellent seafood menus and also a great vegan offerings. We (the wife & I) chose "The Sharing", which was a (obviously) a sharing menu, with a selection of starters (salmon tartar, asian beef salad ++), main dishes (really tender filet of beef, piece of turbo, selection of sauces) and a great dessert (chocolate varieties). I ordered a glass of white (chardonnay) & red (shiraz) house wine; great Australian producer. Ambiance was also great and the place was packed. On weekends you only have 2,5 hours for your meal, but that turned out to be more than enough as the service was quite efficient. Some might want more time, but I guess that would be possible, on request, in most cases.Keep it up, we will be back ! :)Dear Smbjerke , thank you so much for your kind words and review .Welcome back , Mario & FireLake Team .

The atmosphere at the restaurant was good and we got menus fast. You write your name on a card and put in what you want to order from the menu. The menu contained both small and large chunks of meat which is good and they also have a wagyu option if you are ready to pay 345 kroner per 50 gram. The food was served in reasonable time and my sweet potato fries were good and the meat was also fried to medium according to my wish and the taste was great. It was not super tender but absolutely a good piece of meat. The Bearnaise sauce on the said was also very good - but I would have liked to see more sauce options on the menu. The only negative thing I can think of is the sad little bush of brocollini that was on my plate - it was not worth the extra 35 kroner. Dessert options were also limited with very safe options like ice cream, pannacotta, creme brulee and apple cake. I had the pannacotta and it was a bit uninspired - spend your money on the meat instead. I hope to check it out again if I'm in the mood for a steak!

Came here whilst visiting my family in Sandnes. It was a treat for my sister's 50th bday. The service can't be faulted!! Very friendly and attentive. The ordering system is clever and easy and the food was good, over priced(everything in Norway is...), but tasty. What brings it down is the fact they cooked my sister's steak wrong. She wanted medium-well but got medium rare. It was swiftly removed and they replaced all the side was well which was great, however, as a restaurant who specialises in steak, they should get the cooking of it right! Mine and my mum's were both cooked perfectly to our specification but we were almost finished eating before my sister's replacement arrived. All in all though, we had a cosy, enjoyable evening.
