With about 120,000 people, Stavanger is Norway’s fourth-largest city and a fascinating mix of old and new. Its history stretches back deep into the Middle Ages. Stavanger was once a tranquil coastal market town and then later an important fishing port. But it was the 1969 discovery of oil offshore that forever changed the now bustling city’s fortunes and landscape. Don’t miss the well-preserved old town (Gamle Stavanger), the unique Canning Museum or the 12th-century Stavanger Cathedral.

Visited this restaurant last night with a bunch of friends and we ended up with the six dish sharing menu along with a wine package. The food here was delicious and tasty, and the wine package also went great with all the dishes. Nice atmosphere and not too formal. This is a great place that I have no trouble recommending. Will get back here the next time I am in Stavanger. Thank you very much for nice review!See you soon!

A visit to Spiseriet in Stavanger is an experience for more senses than taste. We are happy to welcome you to fabulous views of fjords and mountains, and our location in one of Europeâs finest concert halls means that we have a cultural offering unlike an
Made reservations for Sunday brunch, which is recommended because the place is popular. Its nicely placed by the waterfront, with a parking house about 20 meters from the entrance. The brunch is very lovely, food has higher quality than other brunch buffees around the city. The waiters are very lovely and very attentive. I was however a bit disappointed. Last time we visited, since Im vegan - they made me two dishes since the buffee doesnt have too many choices, mostly salads. But this time, even tho I informed about this when making the reservation, I was only offered the buffee. The buffee isnt very well labelled, which resulted in me having the green pesto which wasnt vegan - and this even after asking one of the chefs if it contained parmesan who said it did not! Which, after having a bigger portion of it, I realized it had.. I have to say its a shame that the chef did not know what the different dishes contained. Luckily I didnt have lactos intolerance which could have resulted in a lot of pain.. The food there is very good, so I really hope they can look at their procedures, educate the staff and label their food better. Another one of the chefs did however offer to make me a dessert since all the desserts there, contain lactose. So that was great service.

We had dinner at the restaurant, and the starter was very small and âsimpleâ, smoked salmon. The main dish was a buffet with traditional Norwegian Xmas food. It was very rich in fat, not great I would say. I have been in better places in Stavanger...

A very nice little restaurant âhiddenâ in the back alley. Exclusive = one small room for ~20 people, small tasty dishes and matching wines. Casual = relaxed atmosphere, informal waiters and âchefsâ coming to the tables, sitting down talking about the food. Starter with local crabs, two fish dishes, a delicious meat dish and desert as âGrand Finalâ. Very nice! Go there!

Very good atmosphere at this restaurant - nice decor in the covered courtyard area. Attentive and professional service - the waiter offered a good additional description of the food and the daily specials. We chose the fish and shellfish soup and the fish of the day (a type of pan fried cod). The fish of the day dish was excellent ! A good size, perfectly cooked and excellent sauce and slightly crunchy asparagus - nothing to fault about this dish at all. The reason for my Very Good rating instead of Excellent was the soup was simply not hot enough. The flavor was excellent but it was just tepid not hot. Overall still strongly recommend this restaurant. The price is fair for Norway.

I had breakfast there, their breakfast menu is only egg but in different verity of additions/omelette or bagel.I had egg bagel with mushroom, it was good, big portions. And what I loved about this place is that they offer real tea (not ready packed tea bags), so if you are a tea person you will like their offering. The service is good as well, staff were nice.Pass by if you are in the neighborhood.

FireLake is a contemporary grill restaurant concept from Minnesota, with Nordic influence, in the heart of the city. For Americans, in many world cultures, BBQ is much more than spices, sauces and meat. It is something that connects us all to our roots an
Going to a restaurant located in a hotel is often not the most exciting thing to do. But FireLake really is an exception. As the name suggests, it's a lot about "all things grilled", mostly different kinds of meat, but they have excellent seafood menus and also a great vegan offerings. We (the wife & I) chose "The Sharing", which was a (obviously) a sharing menu, with a selection of starters (salmon tartar, asian beef salad ++), main dishes (really tender filet of beef, piece of turbo, selection of sauces) and a great dessert (chocolate varieties). I ordered a glass of white (chardonnay) & red (shiraz) house wine; great Australian producer. Ambiance was also great and the place was packed. On weekends you only have 2,5 hours for your meal, but that turned out to be more than enough as the service was quite efficient. Some might want more time, but I guess that would be possible, on request, in most cases.Keep it up, we will be back ! :)Dear Smbjerke , thank you so much for your kind words and review .Welcome back , Mario & FireLake Team .

This is a low key restaurant that serves incredible food and coffee. The fish soup was the best I've ever had, anywhere in the world. It'll be number one on Trip Advisor soon enough. Great service too.

Located in the same location as our sister restaurant Fish & Cow, we serve a 7 course seasonal menu with the best local produce we can get our hands on. Intimate restaurant with 30 seats, warm atmosphere and the best chairs ever:-)
Had to find a place for business dinner (6 VIPs) and selected Tango and their gastronomic 7 course set menu with standard wine pairings. The food was excellent, very well prepared in very appealing presentation. Each course was introduced by expert waitresses very knowledgeable about the ingredients the preparation and added details on the wine selected to accompany each course. Excellent atmosphere, generous with quantity of food and wine. A memorable experience on all fronts
