Things to do in Santiago Atitlan
I found Texas Burger by accident but count it as one of the best discoveries in Santiago Atitlan and even one of my favorite restaurant discoveries in Guatemala. A major reason I go to Santiago Atitlan is for the hamburgers at Texas Burger. The burgers themselves are perhaps the best I've had in Guatemala, large and juicy with high quality meat, hamburger buns and American cheese. Extras include sautéed mushrooms and bacon, and the most expensive item on the menu is the king of the burgers at around 90Q. Fries are hand-cut; also offered are cheeseburgers, quesadillas, breakfast (incl. homemade fluffy pancakes with fruit, yogurt and maple syrup). No alcohol is served but there are glass-bottled Cokes, etc. made with cane sugar; licuados, juice and very good coffee. The owner's name is Lola and she cooks from her own kitchen; her food carries that home cooking feeling and taste. She had been a chef in the United States for some time and speaks English and Spanish as well as Tz'utujil and Cakchiquel Maya of the area. The restaurant is one of the cleanest and well kept I've seen in Guatemala and is located as a fully functional business on the first floor of the owner's home. Ask about room rental - she has a few private rooms available by the night in her home. Best views of Volcan San Pedro and walk downstairs for breakfast. Texas Burger is for those who are a bit more adventurous and will go a bit further off the beaten path for real gems. It's on Canton Tzanjuyu, a few blocks further than Quila's. From the main dock go up the main drag to the first intersection; take a right (Quila's will be on your left shortly), and keep walking another 5 minutes through a residential neighborhood until you see Texas Burger on your left; can't miss it because there is as huge sign out front with a big picture of a juicy burger and sometimes Texan cowboy music playing on the speakers.
There are not much options for food in Santiago, so this place is a great choice to try guatemalan food. It's a very simple cafeteria and the owner is the main chef and looks like she puts her heart in every meal. Again not fancy but clean and tasty!
Although it is perhaps overlooked by quick-visit tourists due to its location, I visited this café many times during my 10 weeks living in Santiago Atitlán! The family who owns it also has a bakery, and all of the pastries, bread, and deserts offered in the café come straight from there. The staff are friendly and the cappuccinos are delicious too. I recommend the effort to go find it, no matter how long you have in town!

Where to eat International food in Santiago Atitlan: The Best Restaurants and Bars

It is a coffee shop located at the first floor of a five story narrow peculiar building in Santiago Atitlán. Here you can enjoy a hot, cold coffee and other varieties of beverages, as well as breakfast or a casual meal as a hamburger or sandwich type of food. The shop has a special and unique deocration, with many colors and a bohemian style, that attracts tourists. I did not find it to be an extraordinary place, but it's fine if you want to spend some time in Santiago. Good coffee. Good prices.

We are a Restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, where you can share with your family and friends an unforgettable experience.
à capaz de ser o primeiro restaurante quando se sai do embarcadouro. Cuidado com os vendedores ambulantes que nos acompanham até ao restaurante. Os preços são altos e altamente negociáveis.O restaurante é porreiro. As bebidas bem feitas. Dos 4 pratos que pedimos, os dois de peixe estavam muito bons mas as esperadas de camarão com alho de alho não pareciam ter muito e a casca bem colada à carne.
Where to eat Guatemalan food in Santiago Atitlan: The Best Restaurants and Bars
The atmosphere is so welcoming in this lovely little family owned restaurant just up the hill from the shore of Lake Atitlán, and the food is excellent. It's situated on the corner of the market street, so after a delicious, traditional Guatemalan meal and the coffee... oh, the coffee... you can take a stroll among countless charming little tiendas looking for artisanal wares. The owners, Don Samuel and Doña Thelma, are some of the warmest people I met during my visit to Guatemala, and I can't wait to go back. If you get there before I do, say hello for me and try the pepián.

JUNCHIKPE coffee shop belong to CoAtitlan, R.L. cooperative that aid to small coffee growers from Atitlan area. The coffee shop has a wide location, attention and pleaseant atmosphere, variety of meal, hot and cold beverage based of local coffee productio
Walking into JunchiKpe you immediately feel comfortable with the welcoming, helpful staff! Furthermore, their coffee is the best in Santiago, and it helps small producers. The staff explained their trading process to me, and it's as 'direct' as trade gets. Definitely worth the trip over if you are in/ around Santiago!
