Known for the way they treat their locals, and how they welcome newcomers, a awesome place to play pool, have a few drinks, meet friends and feel safe. And the staff are excellent! Not even to mention the good prices.

We were a group of 7 (seemed we were the only guests) and after ordering our food waited in excess of one hour for it to arrive. In the meantime I told the waiter this was really not on and he told me not to blame him its the kitchens fault! He then left us alone and never returned to take any further drinks orders. As this was a guesthouse too, there was not a soul to be found. Only this waiter who was an arrogant $#@#$. We had to find our own way into the place (no lighting) and show ourselves out. We had to assist two elderly ladies down the front stairs (the one had a crutch) because there was not a soul in sight and the lights were all off - we had to use a cell phone to light our way down the front porch steps. If this is how a guest house and restaurant are run, it should close down. It was hell!

So they went bigger! Walked in and wow, looks awesome. Not really busy, but I guess not everyone knew they are open again as they were closed for revamp. Stood in line and one 1 person in front of us being helped. His lady co-worker looked a bit confused but did not assist us. And we stood.....and stood and stood. Then a gentleman came out to the till. He, of course saw my irritated expression. He then asked in a very VERY cocky way : "what's wrong sir". I then replied :" You are now bigger with slower service." We were then informed the till is offline and his busy sorting it out. We'll....why did the lady not inform us? And again we were standing and standing and then he informed the lady to assist us on the other till and out of the blue he said:" what's wrong sir, we are trying to assist you". This was said with a very unacceptable tone of voice. I them asked if his the owner or manager and he said the owner. I replied by saying:" well, if you were the manager you would not have spoken to me as a client like that, that supporting his business." and then I decided to cancel my order and walked out. Will I go back and support the business? Never! Ever! Was he the owner? Sadly no! After I did my research Mr Allan is the manager. #pathetic

Did some shopping at Tygervalley Mall and decided to do the Spur breakfast special. Definitely a good decision. The breakfast was beautifully presented by a cheerful waiter, Paul. Loved the food and atmosphere of this restaurant. Even the manager was on the floor to ensure that service was top drawer. I've been to quite a few Spur Steak ranches over a 20 year period and decided to give these guys a go. I went late afternoon around 15:30. I usually order the standard original spur burger and follow it up with a classic waffle. I was totally blown away with a perfect burger and chips. For the burger specialists out there...who will argue and say it's only a burger and not perfect...all i will say is it's the best spur burger I've ever had...enough already bring the waffle :)Dear Winston G,Thanks so much for taking the time to send us your feedback and for your continuous support over the years. I have not been in a spur for many years so I did not have huge expectations.Not only was it the best fillet I had in a long time but my friend also said his ribs were amazing.I have to name the waitress by name - Sharen- as being one of the nicest and most helpful waitresses I have ever encountered. When I complained about my initial sirloin I have ordered she offered to chance it without hesitation. This lovely attitude made my visit to the spur a great experience. Being a Spur fan, I always know that I'll be getting the quality I'm used to getting, even on a night of specials. Normally on Monday night's, Spur staff are ready for the customers wanting the burger special. There will be someone at the door, directing people, taking names for seats, making sure customers are served promptly. At this spur, I found myself huddled together with a couple of other customers shielding ourselves from all the passing staff. Eventually someone came to try and find us seats, w/o even asking what out preference was (smoking or non-smoking). We were shown to a table in the corner, and some people were seated after us. Some waitresses came to our area, everyone else was served first. Only after our neighbours (who were seated 5min after us) were served their drinks, did a waitress come to us, NOT introduce herself, ask what drinks we wanted, then proceeded to bring us the incorrect order and act like it was our fault.
