We thought we would treat ourselves to a much deserved steak and the reviews suggested it would be fantastic. On arrival we made to feel welcome and the waitress seemed helpful. The waitress brought over the meat board and was very knowledgeable about the cuts. This is the point things went slightly wrong. We were asked what we wanted and I stated I wanted the Chateaubriand, at which point the waitress insisted that my partner and I got the tomahawk, the signature dish at the restaurant.We ordered our sides and waited for the âtoo good to describeâ steak. It came out and the first bite was ok, nothing earth shattering, the meat was only warm. The next bite was awful, the meat was cold, not the cool down associated with well rested meat, but it was fridge cold. I had a few more bites, with varying success, but it was not good.A member of staff came over and asked what we thought of the signature dish, I stated it was tasty, but cold. She immediately offered to get it warmed up/cooked more medium. We asked for it just to be warm and turned down the offer of a free side.When the steak came back out it was at a temperature you would expect at a highly rated restaurant, but the actual cut of meat was disgusting, very fatty and hardly any fillet type meats in it. I am not a meat expert, but when I was asked what I wanted, I asked for a Chateaubriand, not a fatty cut of cold meat.We finished what we could and got the bill, at which point the waitress asked if we knew the bill did not include a service charge. I stated to the waitress that her amazing recommendation was not what I had asked for and the quality of the meat and standard of cooking was poor. Still in shock that she suggested we tipped after spending R600 more on her bad recommendation. I will never have a Tomahawk again, very disappointing trip and I will never go back. WE had christmas dinner there. I already felt it was over-priced but wanted a good family time - which turned out to be a nightmare. Food was late, queue went out the door for the buffet, then items ran out so main-meal items we had seen advertised were finished. Food was cold. We didn't eat together due to arriving back at different times. Desert experience was worse because guests now rushing to grab. I was given a tiny helping because waiter realised he couldn't serve all. Absolutely horrific, over-priced experience. Restaurant gave a voucher but this is useless for our visiting guests and we don't really want to go back. Kitchen seems to small as I've waited there before. I was looking for a place for wedding anniversary but definitely won't. We phoned in advance for vegetarian but had not prepared - so basically kid's meal + leftover salads

Was lucky enough to get a table for a few hours as it was booked out. The food was really good and well presented. However the seating is a bit cramped and the mussels had a bit too much garlic. I visited recently because I had an Entertainer voucher and I love having fillet steak here. My steak was very good, cooked to order and enjoyable. My friend enjoyed her rump steak too.

We were favorably impressed with the new Brads Grill a branch of the original steakhouse in Claremont. Excellent aged steak including fillet on the bone, rump and T bone Dishes are served with vegetables and fries ( unlike similar steakhouses that charge for the extras)Quality is excellent, service is attentive and the Owner is present.You will enjoy the experience.

Went on the recommendation of friends and have to say not disappointed and had one of the best salmon steaks I have had.Was what I was told to ask for and was so moist and succulent it just melted in the mouth, with some lovely accompanying vegetables and roast potatoes.Chef Rudi came out and spoke to us and you know how dedicated and enthusiastic he is about his cookingReal pleasure and sure to return.Better to book if possible as is busy most evenings.

If you want a decent piece of aged meat then this is the place to go, food is delicious, ambience is low light, fireplace and friendly staff. A mmedium rare aged Rump steak with sides and no sauce is in my opinion the best way to enjoy the meat
