Reviews on International food in Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa. The caves of Plettenberg Bay are wrinkles in time, lined with ancient artifacts that date to the Middle Stone Age. Under the sun, Robberg, Central and Lookout beaches are pristine stretches of white sand, magnets for tourists, seagulls and dolphins, who bob playfully just off shore. Wildlife lovers will delight at the Birds of Eden aviary and Monkeyland. (How can you not have fun in a place called Monkeyland?)

The setting is great at almost below sea level with a lovely view of the sea and rocks through toughened glass windows. It is a relatively small restaurant with very personal service. Food is well prepared and tasty. Parking is a bit of an issue and will be a nightmare in season. Non-residents of the Beacon Isle hotel have to use a public parking area outside the boom gate and walk up to the entrance. It seems their little shuttle is only for residents.

We stopped here for an impromptu breakfast on the way to Storms River. It was great value, service was amazing and the little touches really made the experience. My children loved looking at the animals. Love the knitted tea cosies. Would recommend.

Welcome to ROOST. Why the name? Inspiration taken from the rooster weather vane on top of our gorgeous farm building we call 'home' to the energy expelled by all our staff in creating memorable experiences with us. We have come home to ROOST! We trust tha
Ask your waiter what dishes (s)he recommends, then you might get it right. Look at their body language and listen to the small hints when you order, you might realize that you are ordering something that is not good.Definitely not to be recommended is the Seared Tuna Salad - the tuna was really not tasty I can honestly say it is one of the worst salads I had.The Kombucha fizzy cultured fermented tea not nice, suppose it is for a specific connoisseur to enjoy it.The rest of my family were happy, but I definitely got it all wrong.

Have eaten there three times, once had babotie which was fair, twice had the seafood chowder which was very good and good value the first time but had gone ubbeknown up in price and down in quality the second a week later, leaving me disappointed. The waitron I found to be rather too buddy buddy and disrespectful of my age.I shall not be back as the prices are too high and the choices too limited.Dear Garth, the first time you had it, it was on a special offer (promotion). We did make you aware of that upon you asking for the chowder specifically. I'm sorry if you feel that a chowder with prawns, calamari, mussels & hake isn't worth R85. As for the quality, you are, of course, entitled to your opinion. We are all human, so it's obviously possible that we could have slipped up in the kitchen. I would like to invite you to come and have another chowder. If you honestly don't enjoy it, I'll pay for it.

Located in the heart of Plettenberg Bay, The Lookout Deck creates a comfortable and down-to-earth space that welcomes family and friends to make themselves at home while digging into fresh and effortless seafood.
We visited to watch the rugby final. Had to ask three times for menu. Table next to us got wrong bottle of wine three times. Menu has changed, food overpriced and small portions now. The restaurant has lost most of its charm. Couldnât hear the rugby anyways as they refused to turn up the volume. Pina Colada was good.Hi Elene,Thank you for your constructive feedback, we are terribly sorry we did not put our best foot forward and will certainly address your understandable disappointment with our entire team.We are glad that you enjoyed our delicious cocktails though and do hope to serve you another round or two some time soon...Benjamin and the Lookout Deck Team

Set amidst the treetops of an age-old indigenous forest, Tsala is a lavish celebration of the spirit of Africa. Irresistible to those who appreciate exclusivity, fine fare, romance and adventure. With beautiful private suites and villas, breathtaking view
For me probably the highlight of our holiday in RSA as it turned out. The most amazing suites in the trees were so comfortable, luxurious and magical. I really could think how this place could be improved - huge windows overlooking the forest, comfortable lounge area with wood burning stove, drinks cabinet etc. Outside terrace and plunge pool. Nothing overlooked. Front of house Karen couldnât have been nicer, more helpful and was kind enough to send us off next day with some individual recommendations of other places on our route. Food also fantastic. If there was one place I wished we had stayed another night it was here. Just magical.
