Based on the many good reviews Vesuvio received, I decided to pop in there for a take away pizza. I phoned beforehand to confirm they do take aaway pizzas and was informed it would take around 10 minutes. Good service, the pizza was ready in about 15 minutes, so all well there. Unfortunately the pizza did not live up to expectations. It was expensive, R130, toppings were too little, with a few scatterings. The worst is, the pizza base was soggy when I ate it. There is something major wrong with their base preparation and cooking. A complete disaster. I hope this was an isolated case, but the cooking process needs to be sorted out, as well as their value for money.

Worst dining experience ever! This particular Primi has gotten progressively worse for a while now. The waiter was the worst, from bringing us incorrect drinks, to disappearing for like 15mins and the others being visibly hesitant about helping in his absence....like for real?! the food was horrible, pasta dish was so salty the taste was destroyed, the meatballs tasted totally odd and the cherry on top was the waiter requesting a balance enquiry on my card when I was paying and then actually studying the printout and upon confronting him infront of the manager (who was completely silent, not even uttering an apology), he claimed it was a mistake and he's not sure why that happened...yes the speed-point decided on its own to invade my privacy! Yeah that must be it. Will not be going back there ever....rather drive the extra km's to a better Primi Piatti!

Stopped for pizza but our orders were messed up. Pizza was good, my first with banana, but the service was under par. We happened to stumble upon Bruegels while staying at a guesthouse in Mowbray and they had delicious thin crust pizza.They also offer gluten free base options.Each table is given a sheet of paper and crayons which you can use to create your own work of art.Some customers' artwork have been put up against the wall which is pretty cool

Will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The waiter was argumentative and cocky. The Lasagne was burned on top. The manager did not even bother to show his face when concerns were raised. Vesuvios should go and learn something from ZIBALDONE REAL ITALIAN RESTAURANT!!!Thank you for the positive feed back.

I had never visited this establishment before, despite the fact that I have lived in Durbanville for a very long time and had only heard good reports. When friends suggested that we have a meal there, I looked forward to the experience. It has been going for years and this is always a good sign.The decor is surprisingly simple and I personally found the ambience to be slightly lacking.Be that as it may, the welcome was professional and the service was good throughout. My meal (a seafood pasta that arrived in foil to retain the flavour/juices) was very good. However, it was the reaction of the other five members of the party that forced me to award Zibaldone an extra star : they all raved about their food.We took our own wine and paid corkage. I cannot remember how much it was. All in all, a very pleasant evening was had by all.
