We like the unpretentious setting, atmosphere and decor of Henri's. Plus the fact that the food is consistently good, so it's never a difficult choice when we decide on the spur of the moment to go out instead of eating in. Henri's is a mainstay in the town, and his solid reputation is well-earned. Thank you for making a effort to give us such a great review. Hope to see you soon.

This restaurant take-away in the Somerset Mall isa the place to go for your marine tastes and needs. The fare is freshly prepared and the interior design smacks of a seaside restaurant. The service is good and the prices are very reasonable for the ample portions served. No fishy business here, just good wholesome old fish n chips or if you are more discerning great comos available with king prawn included and lightly fried tender calamari strips and creamy mussels! With a choice of many Restaurants around our B & B in Somerset West Cape my husband booked at Steffanie's The food and service was outstanding the attention to detail wasamazing. I ordered the half portion of chicken linguine ( whichI could barely finish ) my husband ordered the Salmon linguinefull portion and cleaned his plate . I had to keep space for pudding ! which was the baked cheesecake with berry coulisthis is really a must very creamer and light. Will certainly be back to try some of the Black Board Specials on our next visit.

we had a great time. food was good o general Although starter of mussels was top notch. very attentive manager Checked with us several times... we had a little event with our bill which left us wondering .we will tell you as a cautionary tale. our bill added up to About 700 rands with service, which we paid in cash. my husband got the bills, counted. gave them to me, I double checked. handed to the waiter. he ran after us and claimed we had given him 6 x100bills and 1 10 rands bill instead of 7Ã 100 rands. we felt quite embarrassed and confused and handed him another 100 rand bill. at that moment we were rather preoccupied with sth else so thought nothing of it. later, tho, hubby said: look at these bills, tho we are foreigners and all, they are not that easy to confuse... both the Color and size are completely different... we double checked... so basically not accusing anyone but I would make sure I counted the bills in front of the Server before leaving this ( and after this even any) restaurant.

Nicely furnished restaurant, and well placed with plenty parking space. The ladies had Sushi which was very good. The wine list is extensive and should suite just about every taste.I ordered the Mussels in white wine and fennel for my starter. We are very lucky in the Western Cape, we get excellent Mussels. I expected the dish to be more like the French style of Moules Mariniere. I was disappointed. The product was over cooked, and smothered in a creamy sauce. Why do so many South African chefs/cook think the have to serve such a great product smothered in a sauce, which completely destroys the flavour?For main I had Seafood stir fry. The little prawns and pieces of fish were over cooked. The calamari tubes were OK, but as the dish was over loaded with stir fried veggies they were hard to find. Frankly, the presentation of the stir fry was twice a much as was needed, and not a bean sprout to be seen.The coffee was good and the service acceptable. Definitely recommend the Sushi.

We lived in Strand for a couple of months and this was one of our hangouts. Great sushi, great fish n chips! Great ocean views. Unfortunately no dogs allowed.

Went for a quick dinner after moving into our new home. We were tired so wanted something easy and found this place. Really well cooked fish, attentive service and reasonable wine prices. They have a terrace with a nice sea view for warm days and nights which weâre looking forward to trying out. We ate at Ocean Basket in Montecasino a week earlier but it was nowhere near s good as the one in Strand. Also, they allow you to take your own wine and donât charge corkage on the first bottle - very generous.Hey there Biztripjoburg,Thank you for such a great 5-star review! Having ordered and enjoyed take away sushi from Oceans 8, we decided to have a sit down dinner. I rather wished we had not.For starters I had the prawn drumplings, while he had the tempura prawns. Both were seriously lacking in seasoning, but otherwise good.We both opted for the kingklip fillet for main. My husband had stir fried veg as a side, while I ordered chips as a side. He said he enjoyed his meal, but then his kingklip was not shoe sole thin and was therefore not over cooked. Mine was both shoe sole thin and horribly over cooked. It had absoultely no taste. The fact that the lemon wedge which was served with my meal looked and tasted like one you would find hidden at the back of your vegetable draw weeks later, did not help at all. I was very disappointed in the meal indeed, but the chips were good.I mentioned my concerns to our waitress, who said she would take it up with her manager, but we left without so much as an acknowledgement of my complaint, never mind an apology. (I must add that I certainly did not expect a free meal, as I always insist on paying for my meal even when it is terrible, so that is not the issue.)Our server was friendly, but apart from opening our wine and pouring the first glass, we did not see her between ordering our meals, meal delivery, and asking for the bill.In a town where there are more than enough options ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous, I do not think that I will spend any more time at Oceans 8. I may, and I am not convinced that I will, order sushi from Oceans 8 again.
