We had driven by the sign by the Freedom Hill Vineyards promoting "half price pizzas 12-17.00" for a few days. We used to love the Freedom Hill Restaurant, so we were eager to see what was there now. Well worth the stop! We got there a bit after 13.00 on a Tuesday, and we were the first folks to sit. 5-6 picnic tables out on the front lawn under the trees. Great shade, nice breeze, beautiful views over the valley. Stunning setting. Our waiter, Daniel, was attentive and helpful and always available, but not hovering. We chose to share a caprese salad (very good, but not unusual - but very good) and a pollo/gorgonzola pizza as well as a di parma pizza (parma ham, red onions, rocket and truffle oil). Wow - we LOVED the di parma pizza - flavours were excellent and strong enough to really enjoy. The pollo pizza needs something to brighten the flavours - pappadews, perhaps! Anyway, it was fun to be back. We stopped in at the wine tasting room before we left and came away with 6 bottles! A successful trip all around.
Vida pioneered the way to bring that authentic European espresso bar culture, infused with that unique energetic African flavour to Paarl.
Nothing special about the setting, but a good coffee, hot chocolate (white or brown), tea or a selection of cakes & takeaways can be found. A nice fireplace helps.

Café Arez is nestled in the Beautiful Paarl Valley. Beautiful Boutique Styled venue on the premises. We loved the outdoor seating next to the dam and enjoy their Tapas menu, great value for money as well. They also serve very delicious sweet treets with great cappuccinos. Will definitly visit you again.

There are not too many tables and it can be full over the weekend at lunch time. We had to wait a short while to get a table but we were glad we did! The food was as it says on the label "Old Fashioned Home Cooking". The portion sizes are also home size ;-). For what you get the prices are very reasonable. A good choice if you are ever in Paarl.

We stopped here on our way back to Cape Town. Super friendly waitress, lovely quick bite to eat (Think toasties, jaffles, pies ect). My curry jaffle was spot on, nostalgia on a plate and great chips on the side. No complaints and puppy friendly!

Dropped in for coffee one morning at this lovely venue but the service was not as good as expected. My sandwich should have had sweet chilly but there was none so I had to order extra and the the guests at a neighbouring table called for the owner because they had a complaint, so all was not well at a place that has all the potential to be very goodWhen the invoice came they have added advice for you on the bottom which calculates how much the gratuity will be at 10% and also 12%.I suggest that they improve the service before calculating what gratuity they want
