Authentic Indian cuisine. Try our new menu. Vegan and Gluten free options available. We are BYO only.
What a wonderful experience.I have never had Paneer Shashlik or Marat Mushroom before. They were both amazing, but in particular the Matar Mushroom was 5 Stars from me. There were also other items Iâll be back to try such as Fish Amritsari and Murg Methi Malai. I also asked for an extra hot Lamb Vindaloo. It was extra hot, but still held a beautiful flavour which is rare in my experience. This place is extremely clean, and the staff obviously care about you. The lady who served me was lovely and genuine. Everything seemed to have its own special flavour, just a little different and a lot better than the mainstream Indian we get here. Prices are extremely fair and dishes are generous compared to other places Iâve been. A couple of things to know:- There is a wheelchair/ gopher ramp- This is BYO only. The pub 20m away serves takeaway if you forget. - They have Vegan and GF optionsIâm sorry about the poor photo quality, it certainly doesnât do this place justice.

This was our first visit to The Rupee. We had Chicken Madras and Lamb Rogan Josh (we asked for both to be 'Indian hot' as we like the heat), with Kashmiri Pillau, and tried two types of their naan -- chilli naan, and cheese and onion naan. Total cost was just under $60.All the bowls came out packed to the brim. The Chicken Madras was delicious. The lamb was melty, but the sauce was a bit watery and not as spicy hot as we'd like. The Kashmiri pillau was a nice counterpoint to both. We had the chilli naan as an entree -- it was much thinner than we're used to at other restaurants, but was full of flavour, with thin pieces of green chilli embedded in the naan. The cheese and onion naan we had with the main meal was nice, but the onion made it a little sweet, especially compared with the spiciness of the main dishes. It would likely work well as an entree. Service was a bit off -- we had to grab our own menus, the air con wasn't on when we arrived (and it was a warm night), the server was pleasant but didn't seem to have his processes down pat. As this is a new restaurant, I'm sure that will improve over time.I'm sure we'll be back, if only for that lovely chicken madras!

Shalimar Indian Curries is an Indian restaurant situated in the great southern region of Australia. sucessfully having been in to the industry for more than 8 years this restaurant can easily boast of its unique, mouthwatering and traditional food. There
My favourite takeaway, great food and reasonably quick delivery, I like that I can order the butter chicken with a bit of heat unlike the other indian restaurants in Bunbury. All the food I have tasted there has been really tasty.

Well we will be back. Very flavoursome, so even tried cooking it at home, if only I could have the recipes. Friendly service. Got quite busy so we didn't get offered sweets, so took an ice-cream home. Enjoyed Butter chicken and the Chicken Korma with steamed rice. Plenty of food given and not badly priced. Very Tasty...

Indian At Its Best
This was literally the best butter chicken I have ever tasted, anywhere. We are from the UK and love our curry - we didnt enjoy the curries we tried in Perth city but this was spot on! decent prices and portions as well. Highly recommend to anyone passing through Bunbury. The only minor downside was lack of wifi but thats no big deal really!

This is excellent Indian Food - Its not "tempered for the Western palate" (So be warned!) it is the real thing.Portions are large and I recommend the Biryani (chicken) the Beef Madras is also very good as are the naan breads.Well worth trying if you want really authentic Indian Food - They also do a large range of vegetarian dishes as well

Second time back here, always a good test, was not disappointed. Had the chicken Jalfrezi (hot) with Jeera rice and a Roti. Superb, could have been hotter for me, Iâm a chilli lover and have a high tolerance for the burn. Great service, great food, empty on a Tuesday night which must be hard on the owner, how do you make money! If Iâm the area, eat here, please, keep them going as I need to come again...

We went here as a group of 5 and ordered the funkee feast which is $42 per person. The waitress seemed to be confused about exactly what it was but promised us five courses and we all ordered it. The food we got was good but no where near enough to feed five adults! We got some naan bread and dip, a tortilla chip each, a tiny vegetable patty each and one other tiny entree between five of us. Finally the main dishes arrived, one small strip of battered fish each and a scoop of rice with one piece of butter chicken each. That is by no means a feast! We then sat waiting for the rest of the food until after 30 minutes of wait staff ignoring us and avoiding eye contact we asked when the next course was coming only to be told that was it! My advice is go to the Market eating house and get the feed me quickly for $32, the best food in Bunbury and generous portions that you can truly share with friends instead of fighting over scraps like we were left doing at the funkee monkee.
